Bad Driving thread

Passing left and cutting over a solid white line.

So how's this for bad driving. Happened about 10 minutes ago.

I'm driving along the N7 towards Melkbos, just before the Table View turnoff. I come over the hill and do I not see some ****ing **** speeding towards me in my lane. This **** was on the wrong side of the road, and if I had been driving any slower, he probably would've driven straight into me and I'd be dead.

Luckily I swerved as soon as I saw him. He didn't even slow down. Had no hazards on. Looked like an old car. Got no number plate either.

Probably a drunk driver

Pity that the footage isn't decent enough quality to pick up the number plate..

That is a taxi that needs to be crushed and a driver charged with attempted murder (if that is even possible)

Agreed. How the F did he managed to get into that lane is beyond me.

Its really not difficult to get into the position he's in.. but it does mean he had to take a calculated decision and go down one of the offramps, since that road has barriers between oncoming lanes all the way up the hill and for a good few kms after that....

The arrogance is simply astounding. Flashing headlights nogal.

My problem these days, is their arrogance is flowing to normal drivers.

People are just getting to the point of being their own worst enemies on the road these days with their arrogance, and insistence on doing shyte without thinking about the consequences.

Or gone down Jerome Drive from Kloof and turned right at the bottom instead of left. The taxi appears to be encountered at around that area...

Had an accident this morning.

A lady went through a red robot and I nailed her and the car behind me nailed me....

I reckon car is a write off.

Probably safety reasons then. This large intersection has many lanes, and people might take a chance potentially causing a collision. A dedicated green arrow reduced the chances of idiots taking chances.

Dedicated robots on turns are typically used for very large intersections to prevent the usual okes trying to sneak over after the robot turns red. Kinda ensures that there is sufficient time allocated for turning.. This also prevents people from queueing after it turns red complete as the turns are usually upfront for the traffic flow thus leat likelihood of people still turning when perpendicular traffic get the green light.

Its kinda like the aisle theory in supermarkets.. yes you can have one queue to get to tellers which has avg efficiency vs customers or you can have queues per teller.. which has best times for lucky customers but also the worse times if you unlucky.. so customer experience is a mixed bag.

BUT this is Gauteng and morons as above will try and jump the robot like that. Gauteng needs zero tolerance

I know of a certain Kia Picanto, good as new...going for cheap. :)

Serious note though, sorry to hear bud. It's the one thing that sucks about having a car bought and paid for and getting a bit older.
