Every single day between 16h40 and 17h10. I do this route everyday, except when my wife is with, she makes me take the long route.

I only drive it weekends but maybe you must take the longer route to avoid them

Having to commute from the Northernmost neighborhood to the Southernmost - this is how I avoid that traffic :D

On the topic of blocking yellow or red blocks, you should see what the taxis do with that red block just before the rail crossing at Berg Kelder - it'll make your blood boil.

I'll take peak traffic and taxis over my experience on Friday. Between soccer moms that didn't have their prozac and the graveyard crowd, I was in 6 near accidents. Meaning had to do evasive actions. Skipping stop streets, parking lot reversing, cutting you off when 2 lanes become 1, no indicators etc.

You had a reasonable expectation that Roux's route involved a car since this is a thread about bad driving and not cycling, but that is how the Roux rolls.

Just remember, a bicycle is also classified as a vehicle. And the way some cyclists 'drive', they should also be included in this thread. ;)

I actually have to mention that I dislike people on bicycles as much as everyone else, but around Stellenbosch they are normally very well behaved. It's very seldom that I get peed off with a bicycle, unlike the arseholes in cars that has quite obviously got their license from the local tuck shop.

Most cyclist ride on the road like a bunch of arrogant cnuts. I often wonder if most of the idiots on the road are cyclists that drive the same way they ride. Twatwaffles on mountain bikes are my favourite:
"Is that a mountain bike?"
"Yes"
"Then why don't you go find a mountain & get off the farking road!"

99% of cyclists behave themselves. I would do it as well if it wasn't that expensive. It is that 1% that irritates me and give the others a bad name. Like this morning. Cyclist was on the pedestrian path cycling like a mad man and I had to jump out of the way to avoid him. There was a big road with a wide emergency lane he can cycle on.

What on earth is wrong with people in Gauteng and the rain !

In the space of 2 hours, I got:

- On the N12, à TRAC Assist flatbed at 50kmh on the right lane not passing anybody and hooting me for flashing him;

- At OR Tambo, the drop off expended from 1 lane to 3 leaving only one lane to drive and a queue of 300+ cars. A Uber (white A4) decides to stop on the only lane where you can drive to load his client, blocking the 300 cars behind and sees nothing wrong with it;

- In Bedfordview, I am passing a light blue Corolla who's stuck behind a truck, he decides to get in my lane while I pass him, causing me to hit the brakes. I flash him and hoot, he then does 3 brake checks in front of me...

- In Norwood, a Ranger Wildtrak passing a red robot at least 3 seconds after it became red causing me to hit the brakes and swerve almost hitting the sidewalk to avoid him, he gives me the finger;

- In Illovo, a Corolla Uber not indicating at a mini circle that he was turning right instead of going straight causing him to almost hit me...

Glad to be home without an accident...
