Bad Driving thread

very common in Strand/Gordon's Bay. If it's safe to do so I usually take a picture and post on FB with the number plate.

Funny you should mention the area because this was in Somerset West at the intersection of Victoria Road. I should have taken a picture since we were standing still.

On his cellphone the whole time too...

:WTF:

I was NOT expecting that, even thinking the worst of what could happen in that area.

In the traffic yesterday I got to the intersection of the N7 offramp nearby the refinery. So the usual happens, light goes red and a few more people squeeze into the intersection blocking the road. So I get next to the last guy who squeezed in, and I check he is on his phone doing something. So I motioned to him about using his phone, he shrugs and carries on. I motion again and point to him. Down comes the window and he says "But I'm only looking at the maps to see where I'm going."

Oh thank goodness, because driving while holding your phone looking at maps is 100% safe compared to talking or texting on it. Carry on citizen, carry on

I had a pearler this morning...

To the Driver of ND154001, You are beyond lucky you didn't end up in a very large accident that would have killed you instantly since you drive a small little vehicle.

I would love to know what went through your monumentally thick skull when you decided it would be a good idea to do a U-Turn on the M4 Northern Freeway near the Virginia offramp when it was relatively busy, but traffic was still flowing at 100km/h. I would have been suitably dumbfounded if you had just decided to go over the center island if you were in the fast lane, but no, you decided to ratchet the stupidity levels up about 100 fold when you went from the emergency lane (at what looked like a dead stop) across TWO lanes of free flowing freeway traffic, onto the large center island. I obviously didn't stick around to see what happened when you decided to go off the centre island onto the other side of the freeway which was also free flowing at about 100km/h and quite busy...

I can only hope you didn't blithely continue your stupidity and end up injuring other people because you couldn't be arsed to drive another 1km up the freeway and take the Virginia offramp to then come back onto the freeway going in the other direction in a safe manner.

Fscktard.

I'd just continue to any offramp, and use that to reverse my direction instead of doing an U-turn on a busy freeway...

Even if said offramp is 10 to 20kms away... Better waste that little bit of fuel, and know you're doing the right thing, than trying to be a cheapskate and throw an U-turn sommerso...

Yesterday some ijit in a golden Volvo sat on my ass, sniffing my exhaust...

Up came my finger and flipped him the bird... he didn't care, he just barreled past me, and did some Sarel van der Merwe manoeuvres in front to get as close to the red light as possible, then when it turned green, zoomed off again.

His wife/GF was with him in the car, I don't know what she was thinking of his driving...

I think I've found a winner for the "Bad Driving" award for the year... it will take a miracle to top this
This was at a car dealership in Pinetown.

What happened there? Did the one car drive through the window on the upper floor? Looks like it when looking at the damage to double cab.

Yeah it did...
.. seems to have reversed out of the upper floor onto the Double Cab.

Drove behind someone that was either drunk or high on drugs/meds today on the R21 towards PTA (white Polo), she was all over the road. Got some of it on video. /probably should have reported it.
