Bad Driving thread

Drove behind someone that was either drunk or high on drugs this afternoon on the R21 towards PTA (white Polo), she was all over the road. Got some of it on video. /probably should have reported it.

I never see that on N1 or N14, but often on the R21... wonder why?

Normally it's not even that bad and they are simply putting on makeup or talking on the phone.

I've come to realise that it isn't a case of being unable to drive better, but rather than they simply couldn't be bothered.

I just witnessed a man reading a map while driving a new 911 Porsche.

If you can afford that car where is your GPS?

While driving along Durban road in Bellville yesterday I witnessed a drunken fool fall asleep at the wheel in traffic.

Was driving in Centurion this morning on a very narrow road with high pavements and a man on a scooter squeezed between my car and the pavement on the left! If i wasn't paying attention I would have hit him.. Some people are tired of living...

Saturday afternoon 1:05 pm M4 South out of Durban just past Clairwood - I was doing 110 and I was passed by a total chop doing at least 180 - traffic was moderate to heavy and he then carried on weaving until we all came to a standstill at another accident - Gold C 63 with 4 young guys - absolute bloody idiot!

So this *****tard in a Toyota Hilux (registration YFT596GP) proceeds to try cut in front of traffic on William Nicol off-ramp this morning. No one wanted to let him in. So he became forceful.
He speeds up next to me and starts forcing his vehicle in. I refuse to budge - as I keep going he bumps my rental car at the back on the wheel arch.
I completely lost my cool! I was fuming  was swearing at him like a sailor. He kept saying sorry - no one let him in.

It does not give you a right to cut in front of a queue while everyone else is waiting patiently, then proceed to 'forceably' push yourself in.
If I was in my own car, I would have punched the t*sser in the face. Luckily it's a rental. Only a tiny scratch on the paint work. I did report the incident to Avis, and his registration number.

I'm so sick and tired of people cutting the queue and causing traffic jams for everyone else.

My vehicle was stationary at the time of taking this picture in case someone freaks out...

Sigh. Gotta love our culture of patience and respect. A half-educated person would accept that they've accidentally missed the end of the queue, due to being ignorant of the way the lanes at the off-ramp are laid out. In this case, one continues in the lane you're in and looks for the next intersection to legally turn around at.

Experienced a pearler again last night...

Was going to my folks place, so decided to fill up the tank at the Truck stop in Sydney Road.... At the intersection of Sydney Road and Francois Road, the robot was taking an inordinate amount of time to change so that people on Sydney Road could cross over Francois Road.... I sat at the robot and waited for it to change (a good 5 minutes). I saw at least 30 cars just blithely ignore the red robot and continue across Francois Road...

To give context to those guys who don't live in glorious and wonderful Durban, this is one of the main roads that the truckers use to get into the Port area... so there are a good number of 20+ ton trucks crossing through this intersection, and this all took place a week after that horrific accident on Fields Hill... its like people don't learn.

Maybe they were hoping to all be winners of the Darwin award?

Just back from a quick trip to Somerset West in this nightmare holiday traffic. When looking at how people drive its no wonder that the death toll on our roads is what it is.

In just 30 minutes I have witnessed:

* Cars driving without lights, visibility was down to around 50 meters due to the rain,
* 7 Cars with defective taillights,
* Speeding, almost every second car i.e. 120+ in a 80 zone soaked with water.....,
* Driving over a red robot, not a case of almost made it, no, just one of impatience and deciding screw this - almost caused an accident. Best of all a traffic officer was in his official vehicle on the opposite side of the intersection looking at this and he did sweet nothing.........
* A car passing another over double solid lines and guess what... it was a SAPS car doing the passing......

Its a wonder there is not more people dying on our roads each day. Guess it will just become worse as clearly the traffic dept can now do nothing but man camera's.....

So wtf didn't you allow him in? You would have both had a good day, you would have forgotten about it in 5 minutes.

But nooo too many damn idiot conformist sheep with superiority complexes around.

And you an out of towner. What a scumbag.

Somerset West, intersection of Hazelden and the N2, this is a daily occurrence. I have to enter the N2 from Hazelden Road and always have to wait for the robot jumpers to pass before I can go on green.

And yes, the cops love to sit on one of that corner; they see this but do absolutely nothing about it.

What makes them more special than us mere mortals who have to sit in a queue for 10 minutes just to let them push in? I keep a following distance of about 1m between me and the car in front of me when I have to wait like that to stop tossers from pushing in.

I never let people like that in. Let me guess, you think you are special and need to jump queues?

Any prat who can't wait in the queue like the rest of the people on the road, can miss the offramp and drive around.

Fscktards who try and push in need to be shown their place, and its not in the queue waiting to take the offramp.

So you suffer from a superiority complex?
You can't keep a 1m gap in Jhb. Get used to it.
There's no need to get into a possibly violent and costly situation to teach them a lesson.
The poster I quoted was well aware of everyone else not allowing the driver to cut it.
Just give him space ffs. Otherwise it ends up in two tossers in an ego battle.
Be the bigger person and most of all get over yourself.
