Bad Driving thread

So you suffer from a superiority complex?
You can't keep a 1m gap in Jhb. Get used to it.
There's no need to get into a possibly violent and costly situation to teach them a lesson.
The poster I quoted was well aware of everyone else not allowing the driver to cut it.
Just give him space ffs. Otherwise it ends up in two tossers in an ego battle.
Be the bigger person and most of all get over yourself.
The only difference is my ego is already parked in the correct lane. I'm sure all the ********* cutting in line are hoping that I would be the bigger person and give them space. I'm not. I'm a vindictive joburg driver and due to my job having travel requirements I spend up to four hours a day in traffic. I couldn't care if it is a taxi, a mielie boer with a 4 x 4 or a Sandton kugel. If I have to spend 10 minutes in the queue then they can as well.

The person with the superiority complex is the one who thinks he deserves to cut in front, not the one who thinks everyone should queue.

I really fail to see your logic in all of this.

That's exactly why you think you're superior coz you're correct and they're wrong right?
Lol.
Is it illegal to cut in? Nope. Is there a law that says though shall not cut in? Nope.
It's not good manners perhaps but it's allowed. You have no authority to enforce a "law" on the other road user who in your opinion is wrong.
Just be courteous. Don't stoop to their level.
While the driver that cuts in is a twat, the table turns very quickly when the bigger twat decides to enforce his morally superior conformist behavior.

This is directly due to your perception of the other driver, black dude in his posh BM, Dutchman in his hilux, windgat in his gti.
How courteous do you become when it's a hot blonde in a Ferrari? He'll ye you'll give her way!!

When you start to enforce what in your and generalist opinion is "correct" toward another person who is in the "wrong", you become the superiority figure.

I concur with the :wtf: post....

The only person who has any superiority complex is the fscktard who is pushing in plain and simple.

Nope, the wench can wait in the back of the queue like the rest of us....

Oh, and there is a law about cutting in on an off ramp (when the channeling is marked)... I take great pleasure in watching the cops pull the idiots over in the morning.

People in slaapstad drive kark these days. Used to be taxis only but now it's everyone. The taxis now are worse.

This is so true. Funniest story I remember in this regard, was when they were adding a third lane to the R21 between Pretoria and Johannesburg. Eventually the tarmac was laid for the third lane, but they were still doing the finish touches, so the lane was still closed. However, a number of times some would try to use the lane, as the two open ones were solid with traffic.

The only problem here is, they did the new lane in stages, so eventually the highway went back to two lanes. I saw a number of people wanting to merge back into the traffic, after racing down the closed lane, dodging construction workers and equipment. ALL of the cars refused to let him in, from being two kms behind him, we ended up being a number ahead. I felt no pity for this @ss, was funny to cruise past him and see how he was fuming.

I had witnessed quite a few incidents when the "brighter drivers" on the road ended up congesting the emergency yellow lane and blocked emergency vehicles from passing. Really pisses everyone off that people are that dumb and continue to do it everytime.

There was even an incident where a Tata 4x4 that had one wheel in the v-drain and the other on a bank just to get pass standing traffic. That was really dangerous.

Oh and just this week I saw two taxis racing to get ahead of each other. But the clincher is one was on the road and the other on the pedestrian sidewalk.

Sure, it isn't illegal to cut in, you are right. However, considering this driver is rather clever at skipping traffic, I'm sure it was after a solid white line, which makes it illegal. I see nothing wrong with blocking out an ass clown trying to skip traffic. Best of all, this is also not illegal. Even if he uses a GPS, he would have gotten the note to take the offramp earlier. I guess you are one of those guys skipping traffic, and expecting to just cut in. Are you Cool-E's clone perhaps?

Biggest problem on our roads are the 70% of people who see themselves as self appointed traffic officers and who try and enforce the law on the roads.

Stop worrying about other people and focus on the safety of your family and yourself instead. Believe me, it might not seem like it but it will make the world a better place.

Leave the 'idiots' to themselves, the world have a way of dealing with them and they will meet their fate eventually.

yep too many self appointed traffic enforcers on the road, IMO they cause as much if not more problems then the actually law breakers - reminds me what happened the other day on Rivonia off ramp - now with Rivonia the off ramp splits with 2 lanes heading towards witkopen / suninghill (where majority of traffic is headed) and the other towards Rivonia south - people going that way have to sometimes cross the solid line to pass a car or cars heading towards witkopen blocking their way, and actually they easing traffic at the back even though technically illegal.

The other day this traffic towards witkopen was horrible, an this guy in a hilux decided he didn't want any one crossing the solid line - so he blocked it because i guess since he was waiting everyone must will even though they not heading his way caused more traffic for everyone, and it was on purpose he wasn't stuck and had plenty of space to move to the left.

Well, like with inadequate policing, public justice will have to prevail until the government gets it act together and adequately enforces the rules of the road.

So moral of the story is whites lines may be crossed when we feel they infringe on our ability to get somewhere quicker? :D
