Driving on Witkoppen today.
Typical Minibus Taxi moment that goes to the left emergency lane at a red traffic light then pushes in front of the car ahead. Only the guy up front would have none of it and sped off as soon as the light went green to cut the taxi back into his lane. I even spotted the drivers hand out the window showing some obscenity at the taxi
We all get to the 2nd traffic light. Again the taxi tries to cut through on the left. Only this time it was a near death experience. A red car had to slam on breaks as the traffic light was still green going across. I could even hear some woman screaming somewhere. It was close.
So the same ballsy guy from before speeds through as soon as our light goes green to play bumper cars again with the taxi I might have joined had I not had my girlfriend in the car.
Here is the really disappointing part. A cop car was next to me at the 2nd traffic light, obviously saw everything. As everything above unfolds he puts his siren on and gives chase. I'm thinking YEAH!!! YES PLEASE!! Justice for once. The cop car speeds right past the car and taxi flipping one another the bird - seemingly on his way to another crime somewhere.
I was heart broken.
