Bad Driving thread

So to add to 325i's story about a Polo, I present my own Polo story that happened today.

I was waiting at a stop street waiting to turn left onto Cape Road, but at the point where I was going to join up there is an island in the middle with a gap in it, for people to use if they want to turn either onto Cape Road on the other side of the island going right or off of it.

Mr. Cocktonsil decided that he would attempt to do an illegal u-turn at said gap in the island running down the middle of the road. When there was a gap in the traffic, I turned into my chosen lane but not before Mr. Douche beat me to it, flipped me off and raced off like a mad thing, ****ty music blaring and windows down. I chased him a bit up until Greenacres and gave him the dirtiest look I could muster as I drove past him. R-soul :D

EDIT: Sorry for the pic resolution. Resizer not working so lekker

Note to everyone. It doesn't matter if you drive a German engineered vehicle. If it is the 1st rains, the road is extra slippery and your car will slide if you drive too fast This was proven by a Mercedes tonight on the N1 north just after John Vorster. It came speeding down past me and about 500m further it lost grip and spinned across all the lanes to stop at the left side barrier. Everyone else was luckily driving slow and could avoid the spinner.

And yes. It all happened in slow motion.

Almost took out a pedestrian this evening who was merrily WALKING over the N7 freeway. :o

This is a regular occurrence on the N2 near Cape Town Airport. I have seen guys with shopping trolleys and cows crossing the highway:wtf:

Some people absolutely baffle me... On the way to work this morning, I see this vehicle driving along the freeway at around 100km/h or so, but the wheel seemed to be wobbling a little bit... Initially I thought the guys tyre was just flat or something, but the closer I got to the car it was obviously the WHOLE wheel was not secured properly or something had physically broken. I got up next to him, and tried to flag him down and he looked at me as if I was dense... whilst his steering wheel was going mental and the car was actually bouncing up and down... Gave up trying to help him and kept driving, he drove at least another 3 kms on the freeway at speed before I couldn't see him anymore.

Didn't get it on video in any way that was noticeable.

To play devil's advocate, the other driver could have been concerned that you were a potential criminal, and was trying to make it to wherever he/she believed would be a safe place to stop. It's the reality of life in the New South Africa; I wouldn't have stopped either.

Eish, reminds me of a close call a few months back. Guy was walking with the traffic flow in the tiny emergency lane next to the fast lane on the N2 in Durban, almost invisible, my wing mirror must have missed him by inches... some people have a death wish.

I have to add myself to this thread ....

Reversed into pole this week.

Just didnt see the damn thing ..... ID 10 T :(

If if had been a slightly empty freeway I would completely agree.

This was the N2 in Durban in the middle of rush hour traffic so not by any stretch of the imagination empty.

I also forgot to mention the knobjockey drove straight passed the Queen Nandi Drive garages as if they weren't there.. I only tried to flag him down after that.

Whomever came up with that retarded idea should be shot on the spot. It decreases traffic flow and at night there is no adequate illumination of the sign so you see a red and green light at the same time. Stupid.

I disagree, if you can't tell the red light on the right is for turning lane, you got bigger problems

In CT there's usually a sign at those type of intersections saying something to the effect of "Right turn on green arrow only" or "Left turn on green arrow only".

You'd have to be an idiot to not understand what to do at that intersection. We have a few idiots in CT.

Exactly. But the amount of times some knob behind me at one of those red light right turns starts hooting because he can't understand why I'm not trying to turn right...
