Bad Driving thread

Stereotypes are funny because most often they are accurate, but can someone answer a question... Perhaps I can learn a bit about the psyche of a manlet.

Ford ST and RS drivers: What is it with your need to rev the crap out of your cars in traffic?

Yesterday, this clown shoe in a plateless orange(!) ST with a map designed to overfuel ridiculously, seizes a tiny gap behind me and literally runs the piece of crap to the limiter; on William Nicol in bumper to bumper traffic.

A few weeks back, tubby gummy wearing a backward cap in a shagged out RS did exactly the same thing in the same conditions.

Which is one of the reasons i dont by a boy racer hatch - these types of owners ruin the image.

Forgot to mention Monday's traffic. Intersection of Jan Smuts and Empire road. It was like the Wild West while everyone was trying to divert from the M1 South.

SBV poephol decided that he is to important to wait in line and just went pass everyone to block the straight lane to try and push in.

A lovely near miss experienced by myself.

Nearly shat myself as I had my wife and my newborn baby in the car with me. Luckily I was expecting that [afrikaans box] to pull such a stunt and slowed down before the time...

Of course I hooted at him, and his response was to give me the finger and shout at me. :wtf:

I've had that before, even worse is if they miss that turn and then at the traffic lights in Dorp Street where it specifically say NO right turns they worm their way in and cause havoc.

Watch as motorists box in hit-and-run driver on N1

Jacaranda FM has posted a disturbing hit and (attempted) run crash video to its YouTube channel, depicting a Johannesburg driver trying to flee the scene of a serious accident and a group of good samaritans foiling his plans.

The shaky footage filmed from a dashcam (or cellphone) shows a driver veering between lanes on the N1 highway near Centurion, before the car ploughs into the back of a bakkie, sending it into the median barrier and rolling onto its roof.

The crash instigator then tries to make a run for it, but is blocked in the fast lane by three fellow road users who witnessed the crime.

At this stage the culprit’s motives are unknown, as is the condition of the flipped bakkie’s poor occupants.

A typical driving scene these days

Driving to town this morning on the highway, looked over to my right and there was a woman in a brand new Jaguar doing 145 Km per hour with her face up next to her rear view mirror putting on her eyeliner!

I looked away for a couple seconds and when I looked back she was halfway over in my lane, still working on that d.... makeup!!!

It scared me so bad I dropped my electric shaver, which knocked the donut out of my other hand. In all the confusion of trying to straighten out the car using my knees against the steering wheel, it knocked my cell phone away from my ear which fell into the coffee between my legs and disconnected an important call!!!!!!!

Watch Merc SUVs bash each other in crazy road rage

Somewhere in Russia - We don’t know exactly how this fight started, but the end result was two Mercedes SUVs, a first-generation ML and a fairly recent-looking G63 AMG, repeatedly bashing into each other while weaving through a convoy of rather expensive-looking cars, including a Rolls Royce.

The video was posted on Facebook by Hart voor Auto's and the road rage brawl was said to have taken place in Russia.

Regardless, that kind of behaviour is reckless and just downright ridiculous; and certainly proof, if you ever even needed it, that money doesn’t buy class.

Saw that earlier on Auto Evolution - I love them crazy Ruskies.

You maybe able to afford the school fee but you can't buy class.

Guy stops his red Polo on the N1 center lane this morning just after 6am near N1 City so that his passenger could open his door and puke. :crylaugh:

Yoh, that be crazy Ivans!

So this morning while the POS pig was busy setting up his camera on the R44 across from VW in Stellenbosch, traffic was backed up all through that part of town because of people turning from the wrong lanes, taxis driving in the oncoming lanes, idiots skipping red light, all over the barely 4 kilometers I had to drive. It's all to obvious that law enforcements insistence on only looking at speed is cause more chaos than accidents. I had 3 people almost driving into me at different spots because they were taking some big chances.

Not good for my blood pressure this early in the morning.

Actually traffic cop or that dude in the Chev Utility?

The dude in the utility. That's the only traffic enforcement around town, that and the lady with the figo putting her camera around corners and in ditches. Here you can drive however you want as long as you don't speed.

Edit: I actually regularly see the pigs, driving around ignoring traffic infringements. Useless is the only way to describe them.

The POS doesn't even seem to slow down for the stop for him, should just be shot in the head, no mercy

Depends on where and when. If you do it close to the traffic department at the time most of the traffic-cops are ending their day you are looking for heat.

Couple a weeks ago I was going from PnP up to Uniepark to fetch my daughter from school. (that day I ranted about the no free parking at PnP)

I was in Banghoek and made the mistake of going to Merriman via Bosman. That new traffic light does not help at all. Eventually I end up being the 2nd car from the front and the light turns green, car in front of me takes it sweet time to go straight. I have my indicator to go left up Merriman when out of the blue a motorbike passes on the left as I am about to turn - also turning up Merriman. I loose my cool and floor it, two female students have to stop dead in the middle of the road to avoid being hit by the bike. By this time I'm just about done with the turn, ESP flashing, I pass behind the students. As I glance back to see if they are OK I see the blue lights starting to flash one car from the front in the row of cars wanting to go up straight up Merriman.

I know they did not see the bike and the light is about to go green for that stream of cars. Some nippy driving, a quick left into Roux street (how apt) and hanging around a not so well known parking lot seems to have done the trick to get the pigs off my tail. I did take this pic with a dodgy phone I got that day.

Out run the cops is now off my bucket list.

To the d!ck in the CiTi golf that tried to switch lanes when I was almost next to him, and thought me to slam on breaks, then continued to flash lights behind me
