Bad Driving thread

Look at this idiot who blacked out his tail lights... you can barely see his brake lights.

Clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed.

This is annoying, cant's see the reason for doing it so dark. Just placing one's self and others in danger.
Sadly this is a common thing here in durban

And if you rear-end him, it'll be your fault - unless you can prove that it was because of HIS smoked brake lights ...

If it wasn't for the centre LED strip, you wouldn't know he was braking at all. I'm sure the tool is super visible at night too.

Two gigantic morons today.

On the R21, grey Nissan Qashqai cutting my way without indicator at 120 before hogging the right lane for 3kms. Has then the nerves to flash me when I finally manage to pass him.

Then in CBD, a taxi also cutting my way without indicator. I hoot. Next corner, while turning he takes the two lanes to turn almost pushing me in the robot to avoid him. Knowing what pisses off most a taxi (losing 4 1/2 seconds), I pass him and stop dead in from of him for 10 seconds.

Next robot, the moron decides to attack my mirror and doesn't even manage to fold it. I stop dead again in front of him, this time a bit longer and then fly away.

Catherine street in Sandton is the Wild West. Stopped counting the transgressions while waiting to cross it.

I sometimes wonder how good my eyesight is considering I never see the fog for which everyone is turning on fog lights...

Nope. The idea of an onramp is that you speed up.

An offramp is where you slow down, not try and get ahead of the car in front of you, then brake suddenly...

But I hear what you want to say. Maybe I should have slowed down for him to pass (in hindsight).
Could've just stayed in the left a little longer maybe?

But that aside, I recently learned that the national speed limit on ANY on or off ramp is 80, unless a lower speed limit is indicated by means of a sign.

I'm usually trying to get to 120 by the time I merge, so that is easier, but a colleague got a fine for doing exactly that.

Heh, that sucks. I also try to get near enough to the speed limit by the time I exit it onto a highway. Scummy traffic cops that sit and trap there, though. Can you imagine the traffic chaos if everyone had to merge onto the highways at 80 kph?

It would be like driving in Cape Town.

Oh wait... I'm in Cape Town... And it's like that...

Don't tell Capetonians the limit is 80, they'd start driving at 40 on on/off ramps.

1.4 Speed Zone Requirements - No prosecution may be instituted where

(i) the speed measurement was taken within 300 metres of the commencement of the speed limit zone.
From the prosecuting guidelines for speed measurement equipement, isn't there usually a speed limit sign within 300m of the on/offramp?

A pet peeve of mine too. People driving with fogs when conditions are clear should be fined

I see tools that switch their main beams off and only drive with fogs on. It's usually i10's and other *** cars.

I mostly see larger 4x4 do it, especially annoys me in traffic as I can't see anything in my mirrors due to the lights being so high up shining directly forward. I agree that it should be fine-able.

Fog lights can help with detecting and avoiding potholes (especially where there are no street lights).
