Bad Driving thread

no there isn't. All the brake lights run of the same brake switch behind the brake pedal - so just one fuse. The light strip on the tailgate is a strip of LED's so they will outlast the normal brake lights

Wrong and wrong.

I'll go check my manual if I have the energy.

And not all cars have LEDs for centre brake light.

It's not always LED. My old corolla had a normal bulb there, not sure about my current cars, I will have to go check.

Then I stand to be corrected. I am old AF and we used to connect the light bar on the tailgate or boot spoiler directly to the brake light harness in the boot and as far I as I can remember, they were LED (and had an in-line fuse). Will be interesting to see how that has changed over the years. Haven't owned a car for a while and the wiring on my bike is pretty straight-forward

My car has two separate fuses for both the 3rd brake light and the left and right brake lights.

The left and right brake lights are paired with the reverse, and the 3rd brake light is on its own fuse.

My assumption is that LED 3rd brake lights draw a lot less current than incandescent ones, hence the fuses lasting where the normal brake lights fail and can cause the fuse to blow (although they shouldn't).

It should be noted that an incandescent filament failing can cause a fuse to trip if the resistance over the filament changes drastically during the failure... hence why we always see 3rd brake lights working only.

Why people don't check their brake lights regularly beats me... I always do.

Went past someone last night with no tail lights, only the right brake light at the back and only the left headlight working. That’s 2 out of 6. I suppose 33% is a pass?

Loving this thread, I think a poll (unless there is a better way to add stats in that layout to the top) as to which cars the cretins are driving would be very interesting, or what kind of thing they did.

Font of that plate looks "off" as well imo

its so common, here in GP they also tend to bleed the blue off one or more letters, im guessing so that number plate recognition software can't read it, yet it seems like nothing happens to offenders

114LTDGP Grey Honda with a magnet on the side "Cliffs Disco"

This idiotic woman, third time I've seen her doing this, drives like a idiot whilst on her cell phone basically all the way down Main Rd veering into other lanes etc and toddling along with no consideration for the law or other road users.

Lekker, around the corner from my workplace. Not surprised... many of these woke f*ckers drive like absolute idiots on that road

You work less than 2 km from me then, I'm just up the road from there.
