Just witnessed this accident this evening. Guy didn't see (or didn't want to wait for) an oncoming vehicle when turning then panicked and veered onto the pavement. Nicked the oncoming vehicle and missed some pedestrians fortunately. No injuries to the driver and passenger too.

Not 100% sure what happened here.
If I were to take a guess he was probably tailgating and got brake checked or didn't pay attention to the traffic slowing down. Saw him rejoin the lane in my rear view mirror so he didn't pull over due to a blow out or something.

Schite loads of people on their phones, I've been stationary in traffic, see a nice pop in my mirror on her phone in the lane that's moving a bit, she came past as the traffic came to a stop and just kept going rear ending the car in front, worst still at no point did she hit the brakes, never. Unless her lights were out but I doubt it.

Welcome to Cape Town. Around here the right lane is the slow lane most of the time. I've accepted this now.
Especially that part of the joostenvlakte, there and plattekloof hill.

it is every where dude, people are animals, go to a restaurant even, watch hose couples and families look at their phones without talking to each other.
I rev my bike next to windows when knobs are on the phone, legit the other day a guy said "Do you mind, I am on the phone"

Going up Plattekloof hill is the worst. The far left lane will be completely empty but the people in shitty cars will still hog the far right lane dropping speed to about 80KM/h.

So driving on the R21 heading to OR Tambo Airport, this young lady in the red polo simply refused to make way for drivers going a little faster, she was driving at about 90kph in the right (fast) lane, she would look into her rearview mirror and I could see the look of "I don't give a schit" in her eyes.
My thing is, if people are going faster than me, I move over and make way for them. If I want to drive at 90kph, I stick to the far left lanes simple.

Get a louder exhaust .... nothing makes me feel better then giving an idiot driver the full beans.
I thought of brake checking after overtaking her, my goodness I was actually pissed by the look on her face. She simply did not give a f&^#ing schit about the line she was creating behind her.
