VNV 392 GP - Last Second Merge in front of HGV when Lane Ends due to Roadworks

Twatwaffle in the Hyundai i20 suddenly realises he's run out of road as the lane restriction begins, and veers in front of the tanker truck at the last millisecond, causing it to suddenly slam on brakes to avoid a collision, with the inevitable concertina effect on the traffic behind it as well.

 
VKD 433 GP - Triple Lane Change - Instant Karma

Impatient doddering old fart in the Volvo S40 forces his way from a merging lane across 3 lanes of early morning rush hour traffic, almost hitting a Hyundai i10 in the 3rd lane as he cuts in front of me, then gets into the RIGHT TURN ONLY lane before the traffic lights (notice the arrows indicating this fact).

When the lights change, he then realises he's now in the WRONG LANE, tries to proceed straight on & veers back into the 3rd lane, where he sideswipes the right rear of the Toyota Hilux already occupying that lane.

This DUMBASS moron in the Kia SUV misses the turnoff to Hemingway's Mall (on the N2 East approaching East London) and decides TO JUST STOP DEAD ON THE HIGHWAY (straddling BOTH LANES in a 120 km/h zone) whilst it takes the time to chill out & contemplate just what to do next - INSTEAD of simply going down to the bottom of the hill - taking the NEX off-ramp and then doubling back up to the off-ramp on the other side of the N2 again - which is about a 3 km detour at best.

This could so easily have caused a multiple car collision due to their BLATANT STUPIDITY & TOTAL INCOMPETENCE!

 
FL 75 RG GP - Indecisive & Hesitant Lane Change plus going through red traffic light at high speed

When you compound your initial error by being in the RIGHT TURNING LANE when you wanted to go STRAIGHT ON, then hesitate when given the gap to proceed, zoom off down the road and then go roaring through a RED TRAFFIC LIGHT as if it didn't even exist there!

A very apt song by a-Ha - 'Stay On These Roads' - as background music.

That moment when the driver of the black VW Golf uses the emergency lane as their own 'special express lane' during traffic congestion (caused by an accident further along the highway) and the Ekurhuleni Metro Police (EMPD) apprehend him in the act!

I have the Garmin DC45 dashcam - (1,080p resolution) - I got it in December 2017 on special at Makro for R 2,099.

It has built-in speed alerts, lane departure & forward collision warnings as well as a traffic moving ahead reminder.

I have also had the Garmin Parking Mode power cable installed as well, which allows for the camera to still record events when the vehicle is parked & the ignition is off.

It has however been replaced by Garmin with a newer model - the DC46 dashcam - which has even more features than mine did.

There are also two higher specification (1,440p resolution) models available - the DC56 & DC66W (wide angle lens).

I am teaching my daughter to drive. I think wide angle makes sense
Garmin makes good stuff and yours is obviously performing well

Neat installation is an issue. Any tips there?
We have a Mini Cooper she drives.

Get the optional Garmin 'Parking Mode' cable - it is wired from an accessory circuit on your fuse-box or wiring loom that always has a power feed to it, even when the ignition is turned off & the car is parked.

It costs US $ 34.99 - I ordered it online from Garmin SA in Dec 2017 & it arrived the first week of Jan 2018.

I had it fitted by the car sound experts in Boksburg that installed my car radio & speakers - they routed the cable up behind the driver's side A-pillar trim and the roof headlining, so that all that is visible is about 5 cms of the USB power connector, protruding from just behind the rear-view mirror.

Be advised that it comes with a self-adhesive magnetic mount that you attach directly to the windscreen, so if you want to use it in another car as well, it is advisable to also get the optional mini suction-cap mount (US $ 14.99) so that you can easily interchange the dashcam between vehicles.

Turning left on the R44 coming from stellenbosch, then down towards that stop sign. The road worthy centre/weigh ridge is just to the left of the last pic.
