Bad Driving thread

Bad driving and bad parking in one pic

When such a massive amount of NO F#CKS GIVEN AT ALL are apparent with a new Mercedes SUV, then you best give the driver of this vehicle a VERY VERY WIDE berth on the roads - before you also end up battered & dented as well!

WTF happened here? - did he let his guide dog take the wheel & drive whilst he had a quick nap on the back seat?

:whistling:

More selfishness on Jhb roads...

Queue jumpers who just cause chaos for everyone else on the road...

The driver of this truck simply ignores other traffic and gets back on the road before 'taking a gap' to get in to the lane they want to get in to...

Traffic chaos at a few sets of traffic lights on Jan Smuts Ave late on a Friday afternoon...

Really getting annoyed when you follow someone at their pace then all of a sudden they change lanes and 20m in front of you the traffic is stationary, fsking pricks.

I drive a tiny little corsa, its about the size of a shoe, unless I stray from my lane anything bigger than a small SUV obstructs my vision.
And that is why the following distance rules apply. We also drive a little Corsa. I have no problems seeing past the car in front of me. A lorry or truck maybe but not a car.

You and I definitely differ then, I keep more than a reasonable following distance I'd say, which is why I'm not constantly braking like most people on the road but its still not fun when going 40 to a gradual stop then all of a sudden the guy moves and the traffic is stationary.

This reminds me of an event that happened years ago. My dad was driving on the R80 in Pretoria. He doesn't like speeding and was already driving at the max allowed speed. Then a Merc started tailgating him, but there wasn't a safe opportunity to switch lanes yet, so he just kept driving at speed.

There was an upcoming pothole in the road, so being annoyed by the tailgater he waited right until he was about to hit the pothole to swerve out. Due to the following distance being so little between the two cars, the Merc hit the pothole and pulled over to examine the damage. I remember my dad looking in the mirror and saying "Lekker, kry vir jou".

Hope he got a bells that evening:thumbsup:

Drivers in our area regularly go straight through mini circles, this is the first I have seen them go through a stop although a lot of them overshoot by quite a bit...

Just another day on WIlliam Nicol where taxi's use the emergency lane for whatever they wish to use it for...

There was one car at the traffic light, one, but that was more than the taxi was willing to wait for...

This is Rabie, not sure if still like this, but the taxi's shoot through on left , problem is slight uphill and they pull into the road, so 2 km's then stuck behind them at 30km/h. Haven't driven this way in a while because worried about my blood pressure.

As far as I am aware as I haven't been through that intersection in a while, that left turn only lane is still there but I haven't had the displeasure of a taxi using it. I have the displeasure on an almost daily basis of taxi's and other road users using the emergency and other lanes they shouldn't along William Nicol Dr. I don't intentionally block them from doing so but they do get upset when I don't let them back in to the correct lane.

I had a taxi driver throw a fit in Pretoria Road, Silverton last week Friday. He came up on the left using the parking bays as a lane on the left and then took great exception when I refused to make a gap for him when his way was blocked by a parked car. I just played totally stupid and blind. and then the robot in front changed red and there we were for about 4 minutes practising sign language ........

anyone keen on starting a hans strydom and old Johburg mob with me? too many to swear at on my own. Guns n bats n rocks and **** are the only real alternative.

Is it really worth it? I used to rage like an idiot in traffic but have calmed down a lot over the years and am better off for it.
