Bad Driving thread

People that drive in the right hand lane at 80km/h and do NOT understand the concept of keep left, pass right.

This Dashcam owner/driver is the Cnut here. Slower Driver was clearly passing right of 2 trucks when idiot dashcam driver almost rams up his arse because of the whole "but I'm going faster" righteous indignation. Stayed rammed up other drivers arse without following safe following distance until driver moved over.
Yes, the other guy was a little slow, but dashcam owner you're the ****** for driving unsafely and adding far more danger to the situation than necessary.

I tend to agree in this case. The blame is 50/50 though since the Kwid did not speed up sufficiently once it was in the right lane. I have to deal with this a lot with bakkies and smaller cars on the right lane doing 80-90km/h. They do not even move unless I flash them.

It is common courtesy to speed up while in certain lanes, but they're not laws and when driving into opposing traffic lanes you're expected to speed up (in the eyes of the law) in order to make the time traveled in the opposite lane as short as possible.
On a multi-lane highway no such expectation exists other than common courtesy.

In hindsight, the only thing the driver in front did wrong was linger in the right lane a bit long, but soon enough changed lanes left. However, you cannot see what the driver in front of you is seeing and cannot make the same decisions as they are.
So when you're behind someone, you have to trust that they're acting in their own self interest and safety, even if it isn't clear to you and act accordingly and safely.

Flashing lights is also a courtesy of the road meaning that you intend to pass. This by no means places the driver ahead of you under the obligation to let you pass, especially if it is unsafe to do so, like slow down to merge into the left slower traffic.

Nope, you can CLEARY see that he stuck in the right hand lane for a significant period of time after passing the one slow moving truck, that's not only stupid, but also inconsiderate. There was more than enough time to move over. The problem with people sitting in the right hand lane is that they then cause people to undertake (on the left hand side) which is dangerous.

Again, yes, he did linger a bit long, but if you have a car that is unable to overtake quickly, then you are being a menace by moving into faster traffic and slowing it down.

I'm going to disagree, he over took the trucks ( annoyingly slow but he did that at least) but the left was clear and safe after that but he just stayed in the right lane.
Because he eventually did move, i won't say he is the type to hog, but does seem like a person who doesn't look at his mirrors.

He apologised, now in my book, that washes him of any sin, if sincere of course and if said sin wasn't deliberate.
