Bad Driving thread

People think that switching off ESP makes them better drivers - protip - it does not. Especially not in a RWD monster like that Merc.

In my humdrum FWD cars I have never once switched off ESP.
ESP = Eskom Se P**s?

/runs

lol, old cars didn't had that sort of gimmickry and people actually learnt how to drive with that much torque and power.

Anyone know anything about the bad smash on Botterlary road this morning? My wife got told by a copper she needs to turn around because they still have 3 bodies on the road.

I swear one day I will ride into one of them and claim a moerse klomp geld.

Whether in a Ford Tuna or plain Ford - they drive kak.

I never can really understand this, its always the ones weak in confidence when confronted with a challenge task, they follow mentality comes forward literally. I always observe the "he who stops first, leaves first" in all the chaos if you follow that rule, you wont have any problems, I will swerve left to make sure you dont pass before me doing straight. Its confidence in that never fails.

It looks like a pursuit. Hope he has all his meals till death through a straw, he will have all the time in the world to regret, in prison or not, it doesnt matter. In this scenario I wish him a long life...

Now is it really Landy on it's side or is it Mandy from the side? Be honest ....

I just did some bad driving

Decided to quickly hop on a short stretch of highway just before my house, its got a few great corners and a downhill straight so I give my old Corsa some boot through there.

Was having so much I forgot about my offramp, saw the 200m board while going 170 ish in the right most lane, so I cut left across 4 lanes around a right hand bend going into a sharp 180 left offramp, while needing to slow down to about 60 to make it round the offramp bend

Was tough and go there for a moment, keep in mind its a 20+ year old shitbox on 155 value brand tires:ROFL:

Great fun though.

Please can I have your number plate.

Ditto once you're done with it.

I have to see a man about a horse.

Armatage Shanks in old shitbox: "Why would I drive fast?"

Imaginary Girlfriend: "Because I'm asking you to."
There is a stretch of road, just after turning at a traffic light, goes slightly up hill, when I get the chance and I am in front of traffic with no one around I love to hammer it - get it up to 130 in 3rd - then shift to 6th and coast for a stretch so that it is at 80 when reaching the speed camera. Bad driving, I know, but I paid for all the revs and I plan to use them.

Other times I find myself driving below the limit trying to get as low as possible in terms of fuel economy.

ID10T, and that shitbox couldn't even do 170 when new.

I read an interesting article the other day saying that drivers have become so used to non working traffic lights (due to load shedding) that many of them have started treating them as four way stops even when they are working.
I've absent-mindedly done this before. Load shedding ended while I was driving (or I drove into a different zone which wasn't shedding), and I came to a stop, checked for traffic and went on my merry way. I only realized what had happened when my wife started giggling next to me and said I just jumped a red.

I consider myself an overly-cautious driver (eg I approach every green light gently on the brakes ready to come to a stop if someone jumps the light, won't even crawl through a red at midnight on an empty road, etc), but load shedding (and lights not working in general) really screws with the mind.
