Bad Latency / Speed (WebAfrica?)

Latency is suffering at the moment - is there a problem on the (WA) network?

So far been on hold for the call centre for 12 minutes, and I'm now down to number 2 in the queue :|

according to call centre, no problems on their network other than an INTL connectivity issue to New York..

I'm still having the issue on my side though - gonna recheck my line :|

I had 1 time where I had to reboot my modem to get the SNR back up from 10 to 20, while at 10 I had massive latency increase, had nothing to do with the WA network at the time. Was just random one day. I blame my modem.

You should post a tracert to bbc.co.uk and mybroadband.co.za to help people see the problem.

...same issue, switched to Cybersmart - no point in contacting WA Support they will just tell you it is Telkom.

Followed up with the DSL guys this morning, not a lot of calls came in last night for this. Two where related to slow responses from a DSLAM, but nothing from our side

no point in contacting WA Support they will just tell you it is Telkom.

Haven't switched back to WA, but you do understand my point regarding WA support...

I get 380ms in WoW while downloading from the news server at full line speed (4mbit line), else if not I get like 178-230ms.

things seem to have been fine down in Cape Town since the issues on Wed night (for me, at least)

My afrihost connection is now pinging at 310-330 where it used to be 250-290 on international servers..

Wonder what is causing this increase in latency
