Bafana Bafana draw

Stopped supporting them when I was 5.

Seriosuly, get more white and coloured people in that team and watch how we start to win.

Not really... Seeing as thats all we ever hear about the Rugby and Cricket, why shouldn't there be made a fuss about the fact that 95% of Bafana Bafana is black?

If you want to diss it be prepared to get it back...

I still say pick teams on skill, dont know the South African football scene, but maybe there just isn't any good white/coloured players, that is the problem with the cricket and rugby...

Just visa versa..

Problem is our soccer is ****, no structure, people were at wrong places, obvious passes didn't get through and finally we kicked the ball against our own STRIKER? to stop a certain goal......WTF?? they looked like a bunch of ants.

+100.

Jake White got told off everytime he had too many whites in the Springbok team. I've always wondered why the same fuss isn't made about bafana Bafana. I mean the only white player I saw was Booth.

If I comment on that I'll get even more flak :p

SlyFly hit the nail on the head. And how is it ignorant when it's the unfortunate truth?

Please point us to the whites and coloureds that, if put in, will win SA more games. SlyFly mentioned choosing players by merit and you agree with that. I agree with as well but your original comment had nothing to do with it. You basically said put more whites and coloureds in the team and bobs your uncle, we will be a force again. Get off your high horse for a moment.

Come on mate. Your original comment stinks of ignorance and you know it.

Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana don't have any whites at all in their teams. They seem to be doing alright from where I'm sitting.

Lets look at it this way. How long has Bafana been an all black team? The last time they won anything was 1996 right? All I'm saying is maybe a slight change is what we need.

Sure as Sly said, there may not be any good white or coloured players, but isn't that what scouting is for?

Only thing I can see is Bafana being 90-95% black and not winning anything. So obviosuly something is wrong? Coach? Players?

100% correct but it has nothing to do with the colour. We have fantastic "players of colour" in our Rugby teams. A few years back people were complaining about some being quota players etc but right now we have black/coloured players in the springbok team that are second to none and I love it. It has the power to join races together. :)

Our soccer team sucks, for whatever reason and somethign is not lekker and a R100mil coach from brazil didn't fix it.

Hey, I'm white.... if you put me in there it won't help :D We need to find better players, I don't know where though :( but if we can be awesome at rugby and c ricket... why not soccer?

My thoughts exactly. Our cricket and rugby teams have always been rated either the best or in the top 5 easily but our soccer is terrbile. That causes me to look at the make up of the 3 different teams and the first thing I see is the obvious.

Hey maybe there's something going on behind the scenes with the soccer team but aslong as I can remember Bafana has always been 90% black and won nothing.

Most people wouldn't consider the racial make-up of the team to be the "obvious" first thing that they notice.

Maybe it's got something to do with the fact that soccer is a truly global sport, and that rugby and cricket are sports played by a much much smaller number of countries? Or that our local administrators are useless? Or that our players are not committed to the national team because of the far greater rewards they can earn playing for European clubs? etc etc
