Anyone here a fan of baking? What's your favourite thing to bake? I find making bread to be therapeutic, especially if I knead by hand.

Some cookies I baked as last minute gifts:

An orange cake for someone's birthday:

Chocolatines (Chocolate chocolate crossaints):

Give me your grandma's recipes

I like eating food, I probably could bake but that looks amazing,
that will make a person fat quickly

I miss being a kid. Mom would always have a big tin of buttermilk rusks in the house & then usually an assortment of other baked biscuits in smaller round tins. Aaah...to dunk things in hot drinks.

I have an inability to gain weight :P

I miss other things about being a kid, like the ability to just make friends with someone from being in their proximity. And family just giving me money, I didn't need it back then

My wife loves baking. As we have a celiac kid that helps as she enjoys finding new gluten free recipe's and converting stuff to be so. Anyways she occasionally updates her website with some of what she makes:

You have your own bakery or do you make to order? How did you get started?
I bake for friends and family. These days, mostly sourdough, but I was given this book, many years ago, which is an inspiration and a great guide for beginners.

It is pretty much hippy, but hippies eat well.

Edit: probably not as well as @EMAM friends and family, but probably healthier!

Awesome, no matter what it is, I get immense joy from seeing people enjoy their work.

Thanks, will take a look at that book

I haven't baked or eaten any cakes in months now, there's a double layered Chocolate Cake with choc icing in the fridge right now that I have no desire to eat.

Now what I think about it the only baked thing I had within the last couple months was Mealie Cake (pudding) I guess because it's not made with flour I allowed myself to have that on several occasions
