I know this overlaps a little with some of the posts in the vodacom4me thread but I think it deverves its own thread.

We as a company are thinking of getting initially at least 15 3G contract for use by some of our employees. Now to make management of this a lot easier, like billing the employees if they exceed the cap etc. it would be nice to be able to get the balances of all the contracts on-line in one go. It would be very time consuming to have to log into vodacom4me separatley for each contract.

What would be the best would be if vodacom can set up some kind of web service that somebody like can just connect to using soap etc. to pull down all the balances. With web services Vodacom can at least still enforce proper security unlike append usernames and password to the url as mentioned before.

Just an idea that could make corporate client's lifes a bit easier.

1 V4me account

Would be nice for private indiv. too

. I have 3 cell numbers and 1 3g account but i have to login in and out separetly for each one.

Would make life much easier and i like easier.

There's probably two issues here:

Veroland, PM me with your e-mail addy, a different product might be in order for you.

ic helped me to draft a proposal to the vodacom developers for the solution he proposed above. The guys are looking into it and will propbably do omething (as soon as they get the pre-paid bundles out!)

I'll be happy to develop a Winbloze ver of the client side app :)

The big reason why I mentioned soap is because it is "mostly" xml messages that can be accessed through a http session.

As for the client side to extract the data I would see the client as being resposible for that, its easy to understand somebody else's xml data structure and every client will have different requirements for integrating it into their systems.

MTN gives you access to a FTP server where you can download CVS files with the billing info. i am sure vodacom does the same.

You can download your bill from the 4me website (when functional:rolleyes: ) in either .csv, .rtf or .pdf formats - although you will have to log in with each unique cellphone number, but I think there is also a corporate version of this available, might be an idea to call your service provider (1082 if Vodacom is your service provider)

I think perhaps we should collaborate as a community, and develop an Open Source template application that companies and individuals can customise to their own requirements

I'm totally for that idea.
