Baldur's Gate 3

Floating alien creatures? This could ruin the series. They should stick to fantasy and not science fiction. A storyline that doesn't ruin the series is a big part of a game. It's not just the game play and graphics.
:oops::popcorn:

Been part of baldurs gate and neverwinter night games. Not something new at all.

Although there is something a bit scifi'ish about the Nautiloid ships they use to fly through the Astral Plane.

They should do a CRPG set in the Spelljammer campaign setting, could make for some interesting gameplay mechanics.

Also the Nautiloids are from Spelljammer setting if I remember correctly which is a bit scifi-ish compared to the other settings.

That is Forgotten Realms lore and canon,

As already mentioned:

and what you have seen in the trailer background is a Nautiloid dreadnought.

I guess the Buldar's Gate III story will have a lot to with the Astral Plane. The Illithid, as seen in the trailer, and the Githyanki will be the leading plot races.

Yes well can't do an Illithid story without the Githyanki and hopefully the Githzerai.

I must say the Underdark part of BG2 where you had to face off against the Illithid was nerve wrecking. Trying to protect all your major damage dealers from mind control so that they do not wipe out your whole party in one go was a bitch.

It has been some time since I have revisited Baldur’s Gate. I repurchased the games on Steam and GOG the other day. GOG have Icewind Dale 2 and Neverwinter Nights 2 which isn’t available at Steam anymore. Perhaps now is the time to play them again,

Mechanically, Baldur’s Gate isn’t the same as Divinity: Original Sin and I would like to see how Larian Studios will be going about the rule sets and the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. I see the original Baldur’s Gate writer is still tied up with BioWare and the game designer moved on to do his own things. I don’t know what happened to the other team members, but there is a good read by Retro Gamer on the Baldur’s Gate history:

I would also like to see a Planescape-Forgotten Realms crossover at some point in gaming as it has been done in other works.

I would like to see what Larian is planning with the Illithid as they were also crucial to The Eye of the Beholder plot for working with Xanathar.

Neverwinter Nights Enhanced on steam for R26(80% off), R90 for bundle, for anyone looking for a nostalgia fix;)

The Temple of Elemental Evil (ToEE) is still one of the greatest games of this genre, and with the Circle of Eight (Co8) mod, it is a masterpiece. Sadly the game was underrated and dipped in homosexual controversy, thankfully gamers are a little bit more open-minded today. ToEE isn't perfect but is perfected'ish with Co8 as you still feel the lack of a full-budgeted production.

It is also the most loyal Dungeons and Dragons videogame by adopting and adapting the 3rd edition D&D rules.

I must still try The Keep on the Borderlands mod by the same modding/developing team.

Some leaked screenshots before the gameplay reveal tonight, I must say it's looking damn good so far.

Looks like the Githyanki will play a part in the game judging from the 3rd screenshot.
