Baldur's Gate 3

I'm in the

I'm in the middle of act 3 but will completely reinstall again. Don't mind, its my 3d run. Will just wait a bit for mods to be updated. I only want one working which is "Ring of the Elder Gods". Don't want to play without that.

Patch 6 and 7 completely killed some of my favorites like "Basket Full of Equipment" and "Shadowheart Shaved Pubic Hair".

That last one especially was a heartbreaker.
Just want my magical underwear mod that gives you the speak with dead/animals. Very useful not having to use spell slots or scrolls for those.

That's also one I use a lot. That and invisibility. Its included in the modded ring.

Which mods do you recommend? Now that the patch is out I might start my second run

Mods don't work atm. We'll need to hope mod makers update it first.

I quite like the one which adds level 13-20. With the .075x XP change. Allows much for flexibility with builds, especially multiclassing. You just need to play on harder difficulties as you get quite powerful obviously.

Another fun one is the Random Encounters one.

I've done a playthrough with a lot of mods for abilities (Like a feat every level/ever second level) but you get OP quickly.

I just finished my playthrough with the Adjustable Party Limit mod, it was amazing being able to have everyone with me the entire time.

If you're looking for a challenge then this is probably not the best option as it makes fights very one-sided but I was playing this time for the characters and story to get as much of the companion dialog as possible. I just made it a challenge to see how few turns I could use to eliminate the enemies, I'd often destroy everyone before they even had a chance to react (after gathering a sufficient amount of my companions that is). There are other mods to make it more challenging but I didn't use any of those as I was okay with the power trip.

Finished my playthrough last night with this mod and loved it, being able to do the final mission with everyone was just perfection. In the vanilla experience, having all your non-party companions (except Jaheira and Halsin) completely absent at the end push is such a bummer.

Finished the final boss with a one-shot (barrels and runepowder bomb  ) - accidentally wiped my entire party though the first attempt, good thing Gale had a Globe of Invulnerability.

I enjoy the party mod but I limit it to 6 party members so that it's more in line with the original BG games. I just up the difficulty a bit to make it a bit more fair but even then, if you are smart with using stealth mode, you can usually wipe a group before they even realise what's going on.

Another mod that I use is the one that adds weapons and armor from Baldur's gate 2 but yeah those items are definitely not balanced for the CR of most of the encounters.

Is there no difficulty mod that could work in conjunction with the Adjustable Party Limit mod? That would be dope AF as I want to see all the dialogue but also want the challenge

Edit: I answered my own question - the original creator of Adjustable Party Limit is working on a Tacticion Enhanced mod for higher party limits

I ran with everyone, including Minthara and an extra hireling (as I wanted a Monk).

Party management at this size gets challenging on its own. I started the final mission and about 45 minutes in I realised I had forgotten Minsc at camp, it felt like that moment when Kevin's mom realised he was home alone  Thankfully I had a save right before the point of no-return and just sped through the dialog so didn't waste too much time to get him back (which I'm glad of as he gave the final speech).

Doorways are also a challenge with such a big party, and performance can also get spotty especially in act 3.

I'm pretty sure there are regulations against putting so many people in a submersible

My first play through I was pretty much a goody two shoes kinda player.

I'm tempted to go more evil for my second run but I just find it so hard to be mean, ffs

I started one but it's hard. You really have to think through some things in advance.

I didn't want to play dark urge (as I wanted some more control over my actions) and I initially wanted to kill Karlach so Wyll can stay cool with Mizora, that in itself is painful to witness. But if you keep Wyll around you can't turn on the Tiefling camp (that is also gut wrenching killing defenceless Tieflings). I've stopped that playthrough now and will probably just do a durge playthrough instead at some point.

Also usually play the same, only mean by accidentally lobbing a spell or making a poor dialogue choice. If I ever play it a second time maybe I will stop caring about achieving the "perfect outcome".

It was only that one time  I would like it noted that Scratch is still alive (for now) in my current game.
Its the "for now" that worries me. Makes me think you're just planning an especially excruciating demise.

Anyone tried a unmodded save with the new patch?

My save is pretty much ruined after the update
During dialogue scenes textures keep popping in and out on clothes. Stitching disappear and reappear
Enemies move underground then pop back above ground when their turn ends
I'm also getting stuck in random places and have to constantly jump to get anywhere
Animations during cutscenes will skip movements. Solid fps, but looks like a stop go animation

I just started a new game, no mods. No issues thus far.
