Bandwidth price cuts

Prices of bandwidth are set to fall more rapidly in the future as submarine and terrestrial fibre-optic cable developments gain momentum, removing one of the key inhibiting factors for the provision of broadband internet, an information and communications technology researcher said on Tuesday.

Um mr. RPM, I think I might have beaten you to this thread. Somewhere at ADSL discussions. :D

I hate these stories. You think that they are saying, "Prices are dropping now" coz thats what the title suggests. But its always just more of the same rubbish. Annoying, really.

Thats great news. In 2010 i will be paying R200 a month for my 384k line with its 1GB cap. Absolutely incredible.

Pity the rest of the world will be paying R50 for their uncapped unshaped 100MB lines by then.

What the sodding idiots in gvt dont seem to realise is that their retardation is causing this country to fall further and further behind.

And how sure are you that that is not their objective? Keep the masses uneducated and not knowing of better and you can stay in power for much longer without actually having to deliver on your promises....

Grrrr RPM please stop doing this to me :o I get all exited that my time to properly use my extremely expensive puny little so-called 4 meg line has arrived, only to read about pies in the sky and pipe dreams.

...now I have to go find some sticky tape to patch my cracked screen.

blah blah. more hot air as always....

i want lower prices now dammit. grrrrrrr

Arg... we need to be more careful with our headlines. Any more ' in the future' stuff is useless to us, because 99.9999999999999999999999% of it never happens.

methinx whenever theres no real news, someone takes this tired article and simply types in a new date. boring if u ask me...
