The Nook: latest e-reader

US bookstore giant Barnes and Noble on Tuesday jumped into the electronic book reader market dominated by Amazon's Kindle, unveiling a wireless touchscreen device called the "Nook."

DO WANT! I wonder how easy it will be to purchase books from SA on this thing...

The 3G service looks to be US only. Can't seem to find info on their geo-restrictions for eBook sales, but I'm guessing just like Sony the will only cater to US residents.

This looks much better than Kindle 2. I may buy it one day, not for books but for manuals, textbooks as well a journals. Nice!!!

You do know that many thousands of trees died to produce that device too?

Maybe not always trees but lots of pollution and CO2.
