Basic website needed for guest house in Muizenberg

Asking on behalf of someone, would anyone be willing to do a basic website for a small guest house in Muizenberg?

What would the typical price range for something like this come to?

If you know a little about web design and hosting I can suggest that you use Wordpress (free) and look for a free or low cost wordpress theme.

If you don't need a custom theme, you're happy to choose from a selection of themes - you could use wordpress, rvsitebuilder, joomla etc.

This would require a little DIY but it'll be a lot cheaper than getting a web designer to do it for you..

Wordpress will also allow you to host your website on their servers for free with an address like http://yoursite.wordpress.com/ more info can be gained from their website: http://www.wordpress.com/

I would recommend just using a static CSS template for this case (unless there will be many updates to the site). There are many free ones and you (or they) won't need to worry about updating the script.

A static CSS template, can be a major learning curve for a newcomer. Far easier is Joomla or Wordpress, with a purchased template.

Just do a search for Joomla template, or Wordpress template. Some of the template sites off the top of my head are :

I'd recommend doing it yourself if possible with Joomla, however I know someone that does sites and is very reasonably priced, around the the R2500 level or so. PM me for his details.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'll check out Wordpress to see whats involved. I live close by to the guest house, but since I'm terminally lazy would prefer not to get too involved.

I have a decent camera and will be going around there early next week to take some pics of the rooms that can be used on the site.

And similar to wordpress, a few other free sitebuilders. Don't need any technical skills with these sitebuilder type stuff, if you can use word, you can build a website.

I know alot of people are using these "instant website" tools to build sites that are temporary...typical example : Getting Married , make a website with the details+map . Shut it down afterwards.
