Batman - Arkham Knight

Ba ha ha ha ha ha! So hilarious!

I wonder what will happen though? WB execs will say to the company that did the porting that they did a poor job. As a result, none of those developers will get bonuses.

The developer who did the porting is going to claim that they were given insufficient time to do a proper port, despite continuously telling WB execs that this was going to happen.

I'd be very interested to know the politics of what will be happening over the next few days - hopefully a WB exec loses his job for being stupid.

Can guarantee that this is a direct result of the steam refund system. If the refund system wasn't in place they definitely wouldn't have pulled the game from sale.

After steam decided to reset my download, my game finally finished downloading this morning. Hopefully I will be able to check how it works on my pc tonight.

You know what is great is that they have permanently damaged the profitability of the game because they were so stupid and greedy.

Think about it - those that have got refunds will only consider buying again after a patch comes out to fix all of those issues. When the patch comes out, a portion of those will wait for the inevitable steam sale before picking it up. This means that the amount of money that WB gets from the people that decided to wait for the patch and the sale will be lower than if they had launched the game in a proper working state.

This was a very expensive mistake. Some poor executive's wife is going to be hating life at the moment.

Mine finished during the night - just went in to test this morning and it opened fine.

Was only able to recover about 10GB using that method I posted yesterday. Better than nothing, I suppose.

Yeah. It's sad, though. Especially in light of how awesome Asylum and City were. I also always got the impression Rocksteady take a lot of pride in their games. And this clusterfsck will get dumped on them, even though it's WB's fault.

Yeah, it has nothing to do with Rocksteady unfortunately. Not in their control.

I wonder why WB didn't simply give Rocksteady a little more money to do everything in-house?

Ironically, as you mentioned, this will likely dent that profitability anyway.

Obviously to maximize profit, but I don't think they accounted for the refund system.
If people can't ask for their money back, well there isn't much for them to worry about.

But when people can get their money back... well thats a different story.

Lets hope that other companies learn from this mistake, and concentrate more on the quality of their releases.

Just played about 20 minutes after running the frame rate fix, and pleasantly surprised by the performance. pretty smooth on my end

what card do you have? and are you referring to the 5 step frame rate fix or has there been a patch?

Picked up my copy this morning, has there been any further patches since the 3.5Gb Day 1 patch?

Not unless they snuck it in last minute in the steam install update (the retail copy which came with 5 DVD's only installs 8GB, the remaining 25 gigs is a required DL)

Might be a couple of weeks before we see the first major patch, sounds like a lot of redevelopment needed

My bad for not mentioning I bought the PS4 version...

BUT that would cause me to demand a refund right there, how does 5 DVDs = 8Gb installation size

Tell me about it, only reason I bought the disks was to avoid a 12 hour download. Also says a lot about how much they knew about the state of the game before release.
