Battlefield 3

There are some SA guys who are on like level 25 already... the game is what, 4/5 days old in SA and you on that level already... I can't sit infront of the PC for that long - I love the game, but I normally play 1 or 2 (max 3) rounds before I go and do something else.

I'm only on level 7 :/

Last night for the first time ever my K:D was >1 and I had a 9 kill streak :D Good feeling that!

So I said I would wait for the release and two mates came over for a braai and couldn't stop raving over how awesome the game is! So I decided to buy it... LOL, no one had stock of the game (hard copy) so I bought it online from origin, let it start the install, fetched the install files from a friend, popped them into the origin games folder and was sorted... No 400+mb patch or anything :D

Being a COD player, I wasn't sure about it, but this game is EPIC! I've only been able to play about 4 hours, but running 80fps on my signature pc! Most settings on med/high and no aa or af. (Doesn't need it)

I am really enjoying the MP, and have only started the SP, but I don't want to fall too far behind with the ranks!!! Battled for a long time to get decent weapons in bc2 when everyone else was on lvl 50.

This game has its issues (lag, bungee effect for me when lagging, origin and server crashes) but when its working, its awesome!

Yeah, the ENIGMA guys are about level 25. I'd clocked in 6 hours over Friday and Saturday, and when I looked at their game time on sunday they'd clocked in 18 hours!

Best game I had so far was on Sunday as well.
I was 2nd, but I wasn't really killing people, I was just doing alot of healing and reviving and holding of points etc.
I like doing that...

Playing with a i7-920, 8GB Ram, HD4870, 4MB adsl - everything on low. No problems whatsoever. Around 30-40 FPS. No crashes, no lag on 32 player maps. The 64 player maps lag badly. Not the greatest fps but will do until the bank manager approves my loan for up gpx upgrade :)

Playing with the same PC, just a 5870 and running everything on Ultra.... I'm going to change that though. Get the patches where it's like bullet time from Max Payne.... Except I'm the only one seeing it. Picture a guy running really slowly, but bullets still travelling the normal speed :)

Anyhoo, I tried joining maps with Killa, Bio and a 2 others but everytime I tried the maps were full.... sorry guys, was looking forward to having a few rounds together....

I have no problem with work. Its a necessary evil but damn these deadlines! Looks like its going to be a super late one with maybe a round or 2 of BF at 11. Poop

Holy crap! Well some people need to work to pay for the internet and electricity that our computers need to play bf3... Hehe

I have given up trying to chase the fast movers. I will get there when I get there, but I don't want to be at a disadvantage wrt the guns I have etc...

But once I've unlocked some decent perks and weapons, I will be happy to play sp and co ops...

Does anyone know if we can use the guns unlocked from co op in mp?

I haven't read through all 88 pages, but does anybody else with a nVidia card also experiences random crashes?

I have a 560ti, sometimes it crashes even when it first launches other times only after 5 rounds, seems totally random. One thing I found was that if you change the power management setting in the nVidia control panel to pefer maximum it would seems to get more better FPS and crashes a little less, but still crashes.

A true paramedic :D
Best games for me were on Sunday as well.... I've found the game types I like are Rush and Squad DM. The latter really makes working as a team feel worth it.

If no one has played that, basically there are 4, 4 man squads against one another. First squad to reach the pre-determined score wins.

Saw you on last night... Such a sick game... Didn't even open black ops on the weekend.

I find the lag is server specific so of I'm lagging bad on one server I just exit and try another one... An in game "pingometer" would be a nice addition. As well as a more unified chat and friend system.
You can chat in origin, battle log and in-game (shift+f1) gets a bit confusing.
Also if the guy is my friend in origin I obviously want to be friends with him in battlelog/bf3..

What is ur IGN? Also doobyscoo? I battle to see people's names unless they are in my squad or fragging me... Especially on the 64 player servers.

Also agree about battle log friends vs origin friends. Also, did anyone else's friends from battlelog dissapear after the beta? I am sure I added a few more than I have on origin now...

You do get a option in the battlelog to invite origins friends

First time I'm playing an FPS after many years... Really enjoying the game even-though I generally suck ass.
Most intense, visceral and epic MP experience I've ever had. If they could only fix the random crashes, laggggg and server-boots, I'd be a happy camper.

Running on an i7@4Ghz, 8GB, GTX570 (slightly OC'ed) with everything on High except Textures which is Ultra. Getting a consistent 60fps @ 1080.
