Battlefield 3

:p.

Although the last time i was this hooked my fiancee kicked me out . Which was cool though no ball and chain to tell me when i can get my fix. You know something is wrong when a game is more appealing than sex .

Still get the crash when the maps rotate.

If you have an Nvidia card, make sure the graphics drivers are installed properly. A friend of mine was having an issue with his 560TI, so he used an app to check the driver version. Even though he had installed the latest driver, the app reported that his driver was an old version. So he fully removed the drivers, did a reinstall with the latest ones and voila, no more crashing when maps rotate.

If that doesn't help, you can also try:

No crashes, just long loading.

I get the odd crashes (once every 2/3 hours of play) but the load times are insane.

Why must the game re-load itself everytime I wish to play a different map?

BF3 Developers must have been in such a rush to release this game before MW3...

I bet the Beta...should have been the Alpha.. and the released version of BF3 should have been the Beta.

Guys, I think I have a problem...

I've just been invited out tonight with friends, and I'm sad that I'm missing out on BF3 time....

I'm addicted

Never overclocked any of my pc's. Everything runs at stock speeds. Only thing enabled is TurboBoost for the i5 proc to go upto 3.2ghz when needed.

You should give it a go and see if theres an improvement. Start with your graphics. Download MSI Afterburner (http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm) and install. Note your fps before you start doing this. Once Afterburner is installed, increase your Clock speed by about 50, and see if there is any difference. From there you can increase until you figure out what the max is - your system will freeze if its set too high.

You may be able to hold off on buying a new gpu for a few months :)

huh?

I don't see anything wrong with the game. *Given I haven't played that much yet*

Or fry your precious GPU

Thats why you increase it little by little. Most gpus these days have a safe guard that steps in before it gets too hot (pc freezes).
MSI Afterburner is a lot safer than increasing voltage to the gpu in the bios!

Be careful of the fan too; Afterburner has an automatic fan that usually keeps temps at a good level but in some cases you may need to set it manually, 65% is ok.

Good, now I can catch up a bit.

With all the disconnects, crashes and reboots I've only managed to get to level 5 after 6 hours. Spent at least 6 hours just restarting.

And I'm a rather average player, so I need better gear ...
