Battlefield 5 (2018)

Lag is terrible with 180 ping. Feel it even walking around or opening a door. Sucks as its otherwise quite fun.

Odd as Apex doesn't lag at all with the high ping.

Is it still worth it to buy Battlefield 5? Are there still enough online matches available? Should I rather try Call of Duty modern warfare?

If you're playing overseas then yes there are. There are local servers but they're either full or empty which is frustrating. Other than that the game is in a fairly good place at the moment.

Thank you. I booted my PS4 this weekend after about 8 months of not playing. I spent many hours on BF1 and played the BFV beta when it was released. I am keen to get back up to speed.

It's not as fun as bf1 imo but still worth picking it up if you enjoyed bf 1. There are new pacific maps too and the gunplay is much better than it was in beta, servers the only issue. I'm playing on PC so not sure about local availability of Ps4 servers. Worst case is you'll have to join an EU server but it's not bad and I mostly play on EU anyway.
 
Finding it really tricky to find SA servers. Does any one have some tips? Or is this game just dead locally?

It is real po3s move. Although BFV is not great at least it had low latency and I am 90% sure that is why most of us bought it and play it.
 
yeah the BFV servers have shut down for Dubai and south africa, confirmed by community manager partwelsh on twitter.

I fired up BF1 before and I saw one of the servers starting to get busy, everyone still downloading BF1 again I think.

BF 1 legit making a comeback?
I miss it dearly. What a great time
 
Why isn't anyone playing BF1, lots of local servers, low ping, great game.
Especially now that BF5 is dead in SA.
