Battlefield 6 - Official Thread

We don't seem to be able to host in SA.

I tried hosting yesterday and 2 buddies joined in for testing purposes. Latency showed 12ms.
Will try again today and see if we can rope a larger group together and confirm latency is still local.

If so, then we can start hosting matches with a set name to easily find it.

Our group alone was about 8-9 yesterday and other friend groups I see on discord are also that size.
If just my friends/acquiantences are enough to fill a server (and everyone's been playing most of yesterday, all day), then there's absolutely far more than enough players to fill up servers with humans if the Matchmaking system would just stop spawning new instances and instead put people together.
Or god forbid, make dedicated servers you can join like the old days.

But this is just an experience. You still need to host it. I am not able to host any of those, host button is greyed out. And if I click on find servers for that experience it shows nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

You need to click on the server then a new screen will appear

On this screen it will say host only if there are no servers

There are some with persistent servers. Impala for example. But the service seems to be down as I get an error that EA is at capacity when I want to join
 
Interesting how experiences differ. I've played a few hours since Saturday morning and not a single bot in any of the games I've played, no disconnects, no glitches, almost no waiting at all to join games, etc.
And you're ZA based?

I have been playing with a friend or two in Norway. Like the beta it seems to alternate between EU and ZA based servers proportionally depending on the makeup of our party.

This evening was weird, it was two of us, and it alternated evenly between ZA and EU initially, but after a few matches it kept us only on ZA servers with anything between 40% and 80% bots.

Also performance tanked hectically after the initial few matches this evening, me with my 3080 at 1440p frame rate dropping as low as 70 fps at times, down from a capped 110 fps. My friend with his 5070 Ti had his frames dropping well below 120 fps, running at 1080p, he's on Overkill detail and if he wasn't capping his frame rate at 120 then he'd be average perhaps 180 fps. I think Reddit seems to be saying the solution is to restart the game.

Nah, I'm not. Guess that could be the difference.
 
Feel like the game is more focused on matchmaking you into the start of a server rather than filling an existing server.
Yeah I think it's exactly this and with that approach they've chosen, in ZA it's a problem because we don't have the numbers to fill a match quickly if even at all. If we could just have dedicated servers then it might likely resolve our server filled bot problem.

My last match this evening was just after restarting the game (due to the aforementioned performance problems), it said that I was 1 of 64 players, after a minute or so other ZA players starting joining, we got to about 15 players and then the bots were added to fill up the remaining slots.

Yeah I see a few people have been making a post on the BF6 forums about this, hope it gets seen by the devs.
 
I'm fairly happy with how the game runs, detail is set to High, DLSS is on Performance, I'm capping my fps at 110 to accommodate the dips in frame rate, screen resolution is 1440p with an RTX 3080 10GB and i5-13600KF 32GB RAM.

You also seem CPU bottlenecked which is surprising with that CPU.
I have an ancient i7 8700 (it's been a trooper but meneer needs to retire) and my CPU FPS is hovering at around 100.
Concerned that I will spend R12000 for 10 FPS and still be CPU bottlenecked. Seems like this game needs a very expensive CPU if you want to be 140+ FPS.

Think it's just something we need to constantly post on the forums and on their Discord until they at least acknowledge the problem.

I am running a 12th gen Gigabyte B660M DS3H DDR4 motherboard with my CPU which is not ideal, but I got the motherboard originally with an i5-12400 cpu.

Bear in mind that previous screenshot was me locking the frames to 110 because I find the performance is too inconsistent otherwise.

If I take the frame rate lock off fps varies wildly:

It might be that the filters by default doesn't show a full server, but tbh I didn't go look for them this evening.
We just queued up for games and had minimal or no bots for most matches.

I saw the devs took note that there isn't a search for area "africa", so hopefully they'll attend to that.

Must be nice, all my games are 50% bots

Thanks I have to try this again tomorrow, rookie mistake, Notepad added a .txt to the User.cfg filename and I didn't check or notice

Not sure if I need to ignore the e-cores and threads though for my cpu. The below is the contents of the file without them but with them it will be 14 on lines 1-2 and 20 on line 5.

Yeah I also inserted that cfg file last night, but didn't really do a proper "before and after" test. Game ran totally smooth though.
I just took the numbers from Task Mgr.
