BB 9800 Torch Thread

I waited about 5 months before I got my invite. Since then I haven't let go of SocialScope. It just works and is way better than SocialFeeds.

The developers said that current users would soon be able to send out invites. I'm waiting for that to happen :)

Is there anyway to have the app only notify on content that is directed at you instead of other peoples tweets and status updates?

Not liking the build quality once more ... my slide has gotten a little "looser" over the time that I have had it ... will be looking to the WP7 in the next month.

@CyCliC, you can change the notifiers in the settings. I have mine set to only notify on direct messages, which applies to Twitter and FB. The options are quite granular. There are also two inbox integration options, personal messages only or any feed updates (or nothing).

Oh jeez. I didnt even realise that those where notification options. Thanks.

EDIT: Hmmm, I cant get mine to do direct messages only. I have Integrate to Inbox on Yes, Notify on new mwssages on no and then everything else disabled except for Direct Messages. What are your settings?

Can anybody shed some light on how to update the Torch with .3337. Ive never done it before.

I downloaded and installed the update file from Crackberry onto my laptop. Now what? I opened the desktop software (6.0.0.43) and nothing happens. Where do I go from here? Thanks.

Hey there! Can I put my old MTN (Anytime 350) sim card into a Torch from VC (they have the appr. R180 x 24 contract with Torch)?

Could that work?
Assume I'd just have to add MTN's BIS to my Anytime 350?
Who has the Torch on the VC special?

Thanks!

I updated from .246 to .337 last week, and i have to say, much improvement.

The phones touchscreen response is better

Battery life about 30% better!!

Battery pull and start up under 2min
Was about 5min on .246

Browser also seem quicker.

on .337 i have 310 MB free memory after install
on .246 i had 250MB memory free

Common flaw - it does update but can take several hours to update on gmail. VERY irritating!

my blackberry updates the gmail account almost instantly, but the reverse...well i have never waited long enough.
For me more than 2 minutes is too long.

@CyCliC, are you talking about LED notifiers? The two inbox options are for integration of Socialscope into your messages app, the first option will only show Twitter mentions and DMs and FB DMs and comments. The second option will integrate the feeds into the Messages app. Then you can make it a bit more granular by selecting what exactly will appear in your inbox. None of these options have an impact on your LED notifiers. I may have gotten a bit confused (I'm in hospital and on pain drugs :) ). The LED notifiers I'm sorting out with BerryBuzz.

Edit: my settings are as follows:

Integrate into inbox - yes
Notify on new messages - no
All Messages - disabled
Public replies - inbox
Direct messages - inbox

The rest of the options depend on what accounts you have but I have them all set to disabled.

I just meant normal notification not LED, but your post sorted me out. Thanks a lot. And goodluck with the hospital thing. Hope you got a hot nurse. Lol
