BB 9800 Torch Thread

Hi,

I can't get the torch to work on my home wifi. It connects fine but I cannot ping the wifi gateway or even itself. My laptop and android phone connects with no problem. Any Ideas?
 
Here's my question:

I want to use my Torch and MTN / Garmap's free GPS for when driving around. (I also don't have a radio any more, so would like to use that as well).

Are there any car dock, windscreen holsters that anyone can recommend to use it mainly as a GPS unit and preferably charge in the process?

So far I found the iGrip Perfectfit, but only WantItAll stock's it for R853. Any ideas on anything similar or somewhere or a way to get it cheaper?



@Warmunger - maybe try setting it up manually using the TCP/IP settings?

@sky101 - also turned mine off as soon as I got mine. Browsing isn't that much slower seeing how BIS doesn't use HSDPA. Same for downloads.

I see here you say that BIS doesn't use HSDPA. Are you 100% sure about that? My Torch is definately much slower if I'm only on EDGE than when I'm on HSDPA. Downloads from Appworld is also almost non existant when it's on EDGE. On HSDPA it really flies.

Could someone please confirm this???

I'm now trying to download a larger file and I keep getting a "Request entity too large" error. Tried deleting service book 1 and just using service book 2 to download but keep getting download failed error. Would installing this new OS (.2534?) Solve this problem?

Install v6.0.0.600

Do a complete wipe after backup all your data. Do you know exactly what to do?
