BBC TV series - help and suggestions

I enjoy the BBC productions, as they have a certain reality that the American series seem to lack.
I have :Ashes to ashes, Spooks 1 -6, Life on Mars 1 & 2 and My Family 1 - 5.
Browsing through the UK more site of Take 2 I have encountered a number of series I have never heard about, and was wondering if anybody has seen any of them and can possibly give recommendations on other good BBC series.

Tips and Tricks
The Mentalist
Fringe
Bonekickers
State of Play

The Mentalist, Fringe, and I think also State Of Play, are American series. The Mentalist was recently proven to be the highest rated show in the US for 2008/9.

Yea those series aren't from the UK.

Mentalist isn't bad though. It's being broadcast on M-Net at the moment.

Prime Suspect still has to be the best BBC series ever.

Followed by Only fools and horses.

Foyles War is good. From the guy who wrote Midsummer Murders IIRC. Foyles War is better IMO

Start with Fawlty Towers, then Blackadder, Thin Blue line and Allo allo.

For me the best British series ever is Hustle. Unbelievably sharp. Of coarse you have to be sharp as well to catch the plot. ;-)

I wish I could remember the rest. I spend most of my TV time on UK/BBC stuff as I find it much better than the yank stuff.
