I think good for Linux in general but bad for the guys that actually develop and support Ubuntu/Linux. BCX has always been predominantly a M$ shop and has never been known to compete in the linux space, so where this deal comes from I have no idea. SITA are known to have an open source strategy, but I think that they have backed the wrong horse in supplying it to them.
Time will tell I suppose.
Debian developed the software. Mark Shuttleworth and his guys only adapted it / made it more user friendlyThe free to use software was developed by Mark Shuttleworth.
Since the SITA techies transformed, my wifes computer and everybody around her computers turned into paper weights. No email, not even Intranet. A document takes about 30 mins to open. The network printer is just gone.
I've gone over and killed a few things to get it going again but alas, it only lasts a few days.
So maybe this Linux is a good thing. If they don't know about they will just leave it alone.
