BDS vs Woolworths

BDS plans to boycott Pharrell's JHB concert

CAPE TOWN - Pro-Palestinian group Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) South Africa says it may hold another demonstration at Pharrell Williams’s concert in Johannesburg.

About 2,000 people protested outside GrandWest Casino where Williams performed as a guest of retailer Woolworths last night.

BDS has criticised Williams for partnering with Woolworths, which has been slated for its trade ties with Israel.

BDS South Africa says it’s protest at Pharrell’s Cape Town concert last night was a success, despite getting a fraction of the expected turnout. They had hoped for 16,000 people.

BDS Spokesperson Kwara Kekana says they now have their sights on Pharrell’s gig in Johannesburg on Thursday.

i see you're still bent out of shape about that woolworths coffee voucher !
wont you remind us all about the coffee voucher story - was quite a hoot if i recall.

interesting all those problems you seem to have - i use 3 different stores in my area.
products out of stock - yes, i've experienced that - usually late in the day when i usually get to a store.
managers being rude and unapologetic, i can only laugh at you.
i have never (yet) got fresh produce with mold. i have made a noise about ice cream that was not right (was a change of recipe on their part) they offered me any other 2 x 2l ice cream tubs as a replacement for the one i purchased - dont be ****ing with my ice cream).
i made a noise about them discontinuing the profiteroles swimming in chocolate mousse - the manager grabbed the last 4 from the city store and gave the 4 to me for the price of one as the best before date was 1 day away.
It must have been a long time ago.

They don't respond as well any more, depending on the store. We used to have a generous manager who liked to lay out samples. We ended up going in more, and buying more. He had the right idea. The new team are as dry as a dust bowl.

The only time I have seen Woolies shelves really empty was I think it was the day before xmas. My gosh ... the shelves were so empty you could hear the echo's of peoples foot steps trolling for the last instant lasagne or the last "microwave for 5 minute" delicious veggie with cheese sauce pack.
End of the month Sunday just after the churches came out. Avoid it like the plague, first they decent on the isle like locusts and then the isle are empty. Best time to shop, hour before closing on a Monday. Everything has been replaced that has been sold out over the weekend.

It's a shop with x amount of stock. If it's finished the stock is replaced when there are people doing deliveries. It's life, people make a fuss about the most random shyte.

Mold? I don't think so. I only buy my veg from WW. Never had mold.

But when the same item is repeatedly out of stock someone is not doing their job properly.

I get the feeling that they would rather customers can't get what they want rather than have a surplus.

And don't get me started on the lack of prices on goods or below the goods on the shelf.

no. not a long time ago at all
the stores in my area regularly have samples as you go in to the food section which i repeatedly raid whist in store.
grant goes shopping at woolies.jpg

Ja....have to say, I cant recall ever having a bad experience from a woolies. I have found their staff more pleasant than PnP and mould on veg? Seriously? If anything, I am worried about getting cancer from their fruit and veg because only way it can keep that long in my fridge is if it has been irradiated by nuclear waste .... or it is from the devil ..... and I am not religious. So............ :wtf:

:p

The irradiation thing us rubbish. I only buy from Woolies and chuck the skins and seeds in my compost heap. Pretty much everything grows so can't be irradiated.

Had that with the multi seed wraps, asked the manager he said supplier issues. So I buy something else or go somewhere else.
Woolies is al about fresh products so I guess they rather not have old stuff?
Maybe your store has bad management?

Lol maybe BDS should go protest about something important and something that actually affects us .....Oh wait
Maybe we should start a disinformation site saying Jews own SANRAL :D

Great idea. But BDS are completely useless. We want them to destroy SANRAL, not just get some ****ty media coverage.

Crappy place? Israel is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited, its nothing like Syria or Egypt or one of her other neighbours, its a thriving beautiful place

Yeah, in the middle East perhaps. Or of the places that you have visited.
