BDS vs Woolworths

“Most SA retailers have trade relations with Israel, but we obviously can’t boycott all. Our strategy is to target one after the other.

“Woolworths has a good image, and we believe our cause should fall in the company’s own mandate."

So their cause is targeted. I hope they have a great show tonight.

interesting

bds twitter and facebook accounts suddenly lacking updates

looking like another rather large fail so far

Hard to see from this angle but there are a lot. They are all down that side street. I would guess at least a few thousand

Cape Talk reporting they are starting to leave. Mentioned 2,000 again.

18:16 -*Muhammed Desai of BDS: Over 551 Palestinian children under 16 killed in six weeks a year ago. Woolworths and Pharrell were silent. Those who have gone back to Woolworths, we know who you are and where you live. Come back home.
Damn Woolies and Pharrell! They also said nothing about the farm murders

...BDS is a fscking attention seeking joke.

Aggg shame Desai, are you butthurt that your protest has actually ended up with Woolworths doing better in their financial results?

Would be very interesting to see what the final turnout is on this little protest...

Is he threatening people who joined the boycott then gave up? Nice way to inspire anything positive...

bds, being as economical with the truth as they have been thusfar, will probably announce 10 000 (9000 were in the toilets at the time, so that is why they were not seen on tv or photographs)

19:16 As some protesters leave, cars continue to pull up as supporters make their way to the stage near the entrance of Grandwest.

Not many updates.

Now let's get back to CoCT's court bid to stop or restrict this protest...

Who advised them to do this? Was it an external legal firm?

Effectively CoCT were forced (due to the failed court action) to provide sufficient metro policing for a protest of 16000 people.

Will CoCT recoup their costs from them for providing poor counsel?

What has the city said about this?

they are slipping off to enjoy the concert now

I thought the line below was about the longer term boycott than the concert tonight...

Those who have gone back to Woolworths, we know who you are and where you live. Come back home.

We know where you live? Born orator, this guy.
