Hi,

So I walked into TWT yesterday and saw a big poster for www.beame.co.za

What is Beame?

Beame is so much more than just another vehicle tracking and recovery service. It’s going to shake up the mobile asset tracking and recovery services in South Africa and change the way you keep your vehicle safe.

What’s Beame all about?

Beame is the smallest, wireless stolen vehicle tracking system and recovery service on the market. It’s lightweight, has radio frequency technology and is powered by a battery that lasts for a minimum of 3 years, after which we’ll replace it for you – FOR FREE*! Beame is super quick to install, because it’s wireless, which makes it easy to hide, without affecting your vehicle’s electronic warranty.

Now that’s amazing quality at an affordable price, can I hear a Whoop Whoop!!

Anyone used this?

Budget Plan: R99 / month

Upfront cost: R150
36-month contract
Includes Beame tracking device and installation
Banking details required to process your debit order
Credit/Cheque card required for secure online payment of upfront cost

Just like all the others. I've been in insurance for 30 years and very seldom do we get recovered vehicles through the tracking system. Perhaps 5%. One nice thing about these units is the power independence so it's hard to detect and trace.
Their pricing is also fairly good.
But the battery failing would concern me.
The only reason why I would install any unit appart from insurance insistence and discounts on premium and excess is for family being hijacked or kidnapped.
Other than that I wouldn't want a stolen car back.

Good question.
Since it's also wireless.
What if the car was parked in say the lower level of Canal Walk, would it be picked up? Some how I doubt it.

It would have to come out at sometime and a security guard will report it if he sees some men stripping a car for something.

If the battery lasts for 3 years the signal cannot be very strong. On their site they say it works off GSM towers, so everywhere you have cell signal it should work.

Nicely said man. I have just signed up for Tracker and no not for reduced premiums or for wanting my car back after it was stolen but for the pure fact that in the event that it does get taken and I get thrown out and my wife and kid are forced to stay in the vehicle I would curl up and die knowing that I knew not where they be
