Beat the rush for e-tags, says Sanral

What really irks me is how they are making a lot of noise about e-toll now to get us to accept it but why wasnt there a lot of noise made before the system was implemented for public comment?

There are several e-toll announcements from sanral per month and in almost every media publication you can find them together with paid for advertisements that cost millions of rands but I haven't heard a single call for public opinion on e-tolling before the system was chosen.Pathetic way of forcing a system through from sanral.

You can try to publicize it until you go blue sanral but I wont make it easy for you,if you want my money for your corrupt system you can stop me at a roadblock and try to get me to pay e-tolls other than that I wont be paying a cent!

If we all do this then the system will fail because collection costs will simply be too high and then maybe logic will take over form the current greed attitude and they will implement a fuel levy for the genuinely needed road upgrades.
 
I doubt people will be rushing for them tags anytime soon.....No one rushes for getting raped by government

Correct if if I am wrong, hasn't the ANC pension fund invested heavily here????? IF so, no wonder the ANC is signing e-tolling into law!!

SANRAL should wait for Fridays before they release any news as it always make my day....

I'm going to avoid the freeways for at least a few days/weeks or for as long as possible to see how this whole thing pans out.

The fact of the matter is, you don't have to have an e-tag. It's not like everyone must rush the day before it goes live. You can still drive and pay later. Yes, you will pay a LOT more, but it is all perfectly legal and above board and you are not placing yourself at risk.

I wonder how long it is before they offer a R50 eTag with R500 pre-loaded on it, set to expire in 6 weeks (printed VERY VERY small)
