Beat the rush for e-tags, says Sanral

Correct if if I am wrong, hasn't the ANC pension fund invested heavily here????? IF so, no wonder the ANC is signing e-tolling into law!!
More corruption and bribery.

Government pension, not ANC pension. And yes, they took up the vast majority of the bond issuances. It's corruption to the core imo. Funding etolling through government pensions because the private market told them to get stuffed...

i wish more people in Pta will buy e-tag :D
but, not for the Gauteng highway ripoff, specififically for the Zambesi tollgate, and other N1/N4 roads with tollgates.
its a normal existing tollgate, where people go through every frigin week day, twice a day.
having an e-tag means you get through the tollgate much much faster, as you can just drive through, costs exactly the same as paying cash after waiting in line.
but now, in peak traffic time, all the non-etag drivers are clogging up the road, so takes longer for etag users to get to the tollgate "e-tag only" lane :(

i also certainly don't agree with e-tolling on gauteng highways, and the way they want to impliment it, but at places where there is already an existing tollgate, that you have to already pay for, then please guys lets all get through the f'ing tollgate faster.
E-tolling may be delayed, or hopefully one day be abolished, but the existing tollgates are very unlikely to go away.

if you dont agree with the gauteng highway gantries, and the whole e-tolling thing, then simply don't register your tag for the GFIP e-toll system, just use it for the existing tolgates that have e-tag functionality (N1 and N4, and hopefully more tolgates to be enabled).
when and if the evil e-tolling system on gauteng roads do come into action, then you can link it, until then, just smile and wave as you go past the people waiting to go through the gate :)

Video shared on FB and Twitter with the customary #ProudlyBroughtByANC tag...

i have never seen people buy etags at my local shop i will not buy one either.

these bastiges would have put more I in GFIP if they'd used the munny to build more alternative roads....
in many areas where the new housing developments have sprung up like crazy, there are way too many cars for the roads.
maybe they could've even looked at expanding the Gautrain to cover more areas, or some of these fancy futuristic skycar / monorail alternatives that other countries looking at, but no, some ANC genius felt the need to impliment a system that nobody wants, and they are hellbent to push it through.

I am certainly not buying. Not a chance. And if I make there lives miserable in the process, best ever!

Maybe this could be used to "create" a constant rush to crash the system...

“To avoid a last-minute rush of motorists getting e-tags ahead of toll commencement, we are encouraging motorists to register and obtain their e-tags,” spokesman Vusi Mona said in a statement.

Thank you very much for your advice Vusi Moaner #ProudlyBrainDeadANC.

I have decided to wait until the rush of motorists has come and gone before I register an etrolling tag that I don't have.

For us, it is simple really - less trips to Monte Casino, Menlyn Mall, the Airport, downgrade DSTV and go out less. Basically, money we used to spend on entertainment is now going to pay the 4 times more expensive "unregistered user" etolls. It is our little contribution to clogging up the collection system.

Only business and the economy will suffer in the end as people cut back.

Its europcar and budget too :p
All of the rentals I have used in the last year or so have had etags fitted to them.

Frankly, they are a safety hazard. I almost flip the car each time I drive under the first one after landing at ORT and it makes that loud beep.
