Indeed. Each company owners/board makes strategic decisions to bring in partners they deem to add value. It takes two to tango.

Someone asked how long BEE should carry on for ...

Apart from my personal views on it, by their reasoning - logically, anyone who matriculated after 2006 should not be eligible for BEE / AA jobs,bursaries,etc. since it should only take a standard 'equal oppourtunity' child 12 years to get through high school.

By rights only those who started going to school before '94 should have any excuse for being mistreated and whatnot. Similarly ... your acceptance should be judged by your age, meaning that since we're 2years over the 12yr school time, anyone under 20yrs should not qualify - then next year 21yrs and so on and so forth.

Fair is fair, not so?

Well if there was a magic wand waived that made the glaring inequalities in education now solved in 1994, I would agree, however in reality that is not the case.

Sigh, the sooner the Chinese get here the better. Then they'll learn about the colour of your skin - if its not yellow, sorry hey. They'll get there comeuppance when the whole thing is reversed. Maybe they feel us "whiteys" deserve it now - but they will sure as hell will deserve it later.

Pity this kinda of thing takes credibility away from genuinely good, decent and honest black businessmen. A bit like sport quotas.

Is that your perception of what black people are like? Is that all what you see when looking at them, except the likes of Tokyo and Cyril? What are you bringing to the table? Racist views? Then BEE/EE/AA is going to be too hard to swallow.

Same as you during the Apartheid era. The only way trolls like me are going to make is through these ventures, 'cause a White man will always see me as incompetent and unable to run a business.

How much benefit of a doubt have you given to your black colleagues/ employees? Racist slurs out the way, state facts.

Unfortunately you have your BEE/AA colleagues to thank for that. And as I said previously, its the honest, decent and hard-working black people that will suffer the most persecution. Just like quotas in sport. Because of history people will always assume that you got the job "because you were black". Had there been no BEE/AA you would be more than recognised in your profession. Its works both ways, I'm afraid.

How silly is it to try help black people get better spots in life over white people? We are all PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (WTF has pigmentation got to do with anything - why not help ALL PEOPLE????) Why the NEED to differentiate? Its pathetic (BEE/EE/AA/Racism). Is it my fault some whites got together and relocated some blacks, NO, so why must I pay the price so you can get a nice job (when we both got the SAME education [post 1994 education]). A little pigmentation difference, thats all... pathetic... And yes I can say its pathetic because my ancestors are NOT South African, my ancestors did NOT contribute to Apartheid, you and your CURRENT generation are contributing to the CURRENT racism.

You obviously do not get it...I never have to swallow it. I am leaving this country so you can take you AA/BEE and do with it what you like. ;) When all the productive people have left all that will be left is an empty shell just look up north at any country in Africa.

Agreed. I was only born in 1976 and my family always voted for the PFP or any other party BUT the nats so why should I have to suffer? The black leadership today is all about greed. That is all, like a ship without a rudder.

We need some balance in this argument. I understand some of you never voted for the Nats ( I did not and was an anti government - national) my whole life. The fact is that by your parents benefiting, getting jobs, better education etc. only because they were white, you benefited by being brought up with the fruits of same. I know it does not sound fair but the playing fields have to be leveled a bit. I do believe the sooner we do this the sooner we can banish EE/AA. Also not all EE and AA stories are failures. I know of many individual and corporate cases where they have been massive successes. I acknowledge there are some failures/disasters but you have to look at all the outcomes, not just point a finger at an Escom and generalise.

You are joking of course! I was in commerce in the days of the Nat government and they were highly incompetent. We have seen a massive improvement in legislation protecting consumers since the ANC came into power. The large corporations were allowed to collude under the old nat government and lots of kick backs-fact.
