Behind the scenes at Afrihost's offices

Axxess last week, Afrihost this week.
Are they done competing with their products so now they must compete with offices?

Wow really nice looking offices. The person who designed it did a really good job.

One criticism is the developer desks are a bit small and there should be partition between desks.

I enjoy these articles. Gives as some insight into these establishments. Keep then coming.

These are very cool offices from Afrihost, modern and fresh. I believe these offices are less then a year old.

If only their network were as nice as their offices :D

Yeah, this is the problem. Everyone I know that used to be with them has left because of their decline in quality and support. Customers don't stay because a company has nice offices. It's just a waste of money if it doesn't improve the output of the employees.

It's good to see a local tech company providing a great working environment for their employees, but at the same time it bewilders me. How can all the (presumably savvy and dedicated) people who work at such a place not be closely in touch with how their service is performing? Shouldn't a deafening air raid siren have been sounded months ago when the network first started to degrade?

If I worked there I would have:

I don't want nice offices...

I want a nice house. Build a normal cost building with normal cost furniture and pay employees more.

Not saying cheap out on everything though. Just no need to spend 100mil on a 20 mil build.

That won't look as nice when it's photo time.

I actually agree with Afrihost for the awesome design of their buildings and the offerings they give their employees. Their workers probably spend more time at the office than at their own houses so they may as well make it awesome and comfortable for the staff as well as the plebs that have to work late shifts and nights.

It must make it a lot easier on the employees that have to work nights to go into that building knowing they going t get a decent supper and early breakfast as well as a room where they can properly relax during breaks.

Super nice offices those. Hopefully the new networks sort out their customers' experiences.

Am I the only one around here that doesn't have a problem with Afrihost

No, there are a bunch of us that have been relatively unaffected. Streaming had become an issue for me prior to Afrigreen being set up, but since switching over it's been 99% great.
