Being mocked for having solar.

I have avoided this thread all day.

The only way people mock you for something like this is if you continuously rub it in peoples faces.

Oh hows loadshedding - oh not my problem have solar hahaha that kind of thing. Most people who know me dont even know I have solar, I will mention it if someone is interested otherwise just keep it to myself.

Its a kak thing to rub in peoples faces.

Similar to the vegans who cant not tell ppl they vegan etc.

I totally agree. I don't tell anyone i have solar. If they ask, which is starting to happen a lot lately I tell them yes. If we sit at the braai and the okes start talking solar systems I keep to myself. Might try and give an opinion here and there just to keep them in the right direction but that's it. I can't sit by and listen to how the guy is gonna moer money in the water with a kak system or overpriced or dodgy installer etc.

Not that I am the end-all and know all of solar. Actually, I know fokol but I have a years worth of experience with MY system and I can tell what works and what doesn't. My 2c

But then again it depends on the guy's attitude regarding this moerse system that he plans on installing. Wie is ek nou om op sy battery te pis.

Most of these people drive vehicles worth in excess of over 750k but will not spend 110k or more on a backup system that ultimately reduces eksdom dependance.
They don't even flinch spending 100k extra on a more expensive vehicle that drinks fuel like my Alcoholic Step brother consumes beer.

Some of these "Mockers" even use my study as a mobile office when the power is out.

Anyone on here that had solar installed last year experience the same ?

At least you dont stay in Durban. Where solar theft is quite prevalent
