I upgraded my pc not too long ago and want to know how good it is :)

After some tips from MYADSL members I got a Q6600.
Here are my specs:

Q6600
GIGABYTE 8800GTS 512MB
GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DSR3 Board
GIGABYTE CASE
RAIDMAX RX-630A PSU
4GB (1GB x 4) of Transcend 800 RAM-Normal RAM
2x320GB Seagate HDD's 16MB Cache-Normal Usage
(Yes I like Gigabyte but the Gigabyte PSU's are simply too expensive for me)

And ofcourse my lovely Samsung 2232GW:D

What benchmarking tools do you use? I just ran 3DMARK05 with the 1.10 hotfix @ standard settings and got 17291 3DMARKS.

That sound about right? What would you use to test and tweak the system?

System set me back around R11 500 without the screen.

Thanx for the link, now to find out if my score is any good

You don't want to start down that path because it's a never ending one, it's loads of fun but will result in sleepless nights over mere numbers...

I can tell you though that your system could get to 20K without breaking much of a sweat and remaining 100% stable :)

21143 3.6 E8400 stock 8800GT, just managed to finally get a bench completed, damn Maximus is killing me.

Ooh 21K, I'm gonna try for that :) 3.6 is quite a bit higher than my clock tho.

I don't think 3DMARK 05 can fully test a quad system.I need to get my hands on 06, how much better will that be for testing a quad?

max i got with my quad in 06 was just over 15k, quad just helps in the cpu tests from what i have seen

QX I know what you mean about the Maximus, you're not the only one having a rocky relationship with that board. Of late Asus boards have been really flaky for some reason. Especially the ROG line, over engineered and just a hot mess really...

Anway, 3DMark05 is fine, much shorter than 3DM06 too, for 3.6GHz that 21K 05 score is spot on. With a GTS you should be able to get that at 3.5Ghz though as it is quiet a bit faster than the 8800GT.

At stock i can run almost anything but oc a bit and anything involving graphics freezes. Tried different psu, ram and even gpu no difference whatsoever.

Missing something in the bios but have zero clue what.

Stupid board will not even use the c1e (board not in use downclocks voltage and cpu thingy)

Bit drunk and really fed up right now.

Prime stable at 4.05 but no chance of running a game or a 3d bench :(

Yep that's the Maximus for you... I was very disappointed myself and opted to not use that board after a brief and trying period.

If you can maybe take it back for another board maybe from the P5 series. Avoid the ROG line until it sorts itself out.

I have a DS3L and a P5K but they do not have enough fan headers for me and i h8 using the molex connectors :p

Guess i will just have to change over though if i am going to get any decent use out of the E84 :(

Oc'd a bit. on 19040 now.

CPU-Z Stats:
2997Mhz
Multiplier x9
Bus: 333.0Mhz
Rated FSB: 1333
Vcore:1.280

Temp about 64 C.On my way to pick up a better fan now.
Aquamark on 166K

Need to hit 21K :)

Thats more like it.
Don't worry too much about temps its been very hot over the last week so temps are higher than normal. Anywho what clocks are you running at on the GTS?
hit 20K and it'll be time for you to play Here :D

yar this heat is killing my poor lil 3850 and 4.0ghz overclock

in the day its stable and runs ok but at night the room get so hot :)

put a huge fan in the box last night and not a single problem

your 8600gt should get lik 3k maybe if you lucky :)

Anywho what clocks are you running at on the GTS?

GPUZ under load, dead standard:
GPU Clock:700Mhz
Memory:1000Mhz
Shader:1700Mhz
GPUTemp:77
PCBTemp:64
Fan speed 44%-683RPM

Seems i had better jack my system up quick don't want to be beaten :p

Killa what 06 score do you get with your rig ?
