Hey guys

I'm looking to buy some 2.1 speakers for my computer.
Don't really need surround sound speakers, but is that a better option to go for?

I'm sure Logitech is still quite a good make? If so which ones?

Any help will be appreciated.

Yeah, a budget would be good. You could spend anything from R500 to R50k...

Average.
But don't mind spending the extra if its really worth it.

What are these like:
Logitech® Speaker Systems - Z3E

Sorry, but "average" as a budget doesn't help at all. We need actual numbers. Based on my previous post, average could mean up to R25k...

I would say R500-1000
Whatever is the best value for money.

Is it reasonable to go for 2.1, or should i just spend more and go for 5.1 or something?

Well then 5.1 is your best bet and your budget needs extending...

Z4

I have the logitech Z4's, they have really good quality sound but not a lot of power, especially at the lower frequencies from 40Hz downwareds. Go for the Z2300's if you can, otherwise if you want to spend less the Z4's won't disappoint. Includes separate controls for master volume and sub, ipod/mp3 player input and headphone output.

Lower end of your budget: Logitech X-240 or X230 (not bad, but not great)

Top of your budget: Logitech Z-4 (good)

Above your budget: Logitech Z-2300 (great)

Remember when it comes to speakers, you get what you pay for.

What you mean? Lack of bass?

Size of room will also be a determining factor. I rarely reach full blast in my 3x4m room.

+1 for the Z4's.

Certainly no lack of bass, and plenty oomph for the average room. They look very  too.
