Wow, a lot of garbage in that list IMO.

(reserving space in case Dawn of the Planet of the Apes impresses me enough)

Robocop and Tokarev is understandable.. but why Expendables 3?
 
Watched a couple but don't recall any "wow" feels. Thanks for the list OP.

/makes note to buy some paraffin for the download machine
 
Based on that list 2014 must be a sad year for movies because none of the movies on this list made me go wow awesome movie :erm:

Haven't see Interstellar or Guardians of the Galaxy yet though.

The funniest one for me was A million ways to die in the West.
 
I should add Boyhood to the list, and keep in mind that Big Hero 6 hasn't arrived here yet but looks great.
 
I also loved Ernest and Celestine, Lego Movie.. The Wind Rises was a bit disappointing but maybe I need to see with the proper voiceover. Princess Kaguya is still to come as well.

They tried to make it a serious film, with a serious plot. The others took the piss very well, which worked in their favour. Also, Mel Gibson was horribly miscast (or horribly underutilised, take your pick).

Oh, and I didn't warm to the young brigade at all.

It will do I think. Just an excellent movie - mythopoeic in feel, very tense, and grounded by Andy Serkis's role as mature Caesar.

Btw I started Insomnia last night and realized I have seen it somehow but didn't know what it was. Good film.
