Hi All,

I'm currently looking for a good 2mb uncapped account. I need the account for mostly youtube, skyping, gaming and yes some downloads. The worst case scenario i can see is that I will do 100gigs. Any idea whats good value for money for these requirements?

i would also like to know this, including ALL the cost ie cost of telephone line, adsl line, and package...

Openweb Gold is currently the best consumer uncapped account you can get. And currently on special:
http://openweb.co.za/special.html

This is just for data though, your ADSL line is separate and should be left with Telkom to prevent issues in the future.

that looks good. but i would imagine that Gold is for the heavy downloader? Would their silver package be enough for my needs?

Silver would be fine as well, but if you take the special into account is more expensive.

GOLD is more than just about downloading, sure you will never get throttled or receive warnings for downloading too much, you also get less daytime shaping and preference in case of cable breaks and you can switch backbones if something doesn't meet your needs.

I've never been happier since being on GOLD. Doubt I'll ever move away.

yeah but slightly outa my budget:D will see if they have a special on the silver accounts anytime soon.

So would the costs be
OpenWeb 2Mbps Gold Uncapped - R299
Telkom Line rental - R167
Total - R466??

Remember this is uncapped.

I pay R1300 for my internet. What you complaining about?

yea uncapped and then i still hear stories of throttling and abuse warnings going around.

Is it prepaid meaning i can cancel any month? or even better if i dont pay then its not activated?

I suggest asking all ISP's for a test account according to what you would be able to afford and then decide.
