Best Anti-Theft App for Root Users

It seems its Avast (bloated and free) vs. Cerberus (lightweight and paid).

Both have factory reset protection, auto enable GPS, SIM protection.

Avast is a full security suite including firewall, anti-virus. So it's a bit bloated. Also annoying persistent notification necessary.
 
Ok. Seems you can uninstall mobile security and retain antitheft with avast.

You pull up the anti-theft GUI by dialing your access code. Nice.

Anyway, this means Avast > Cerberus
 
Cerberus has added features including take picture, record audio, record video. Thinking considering Avast's pedigree, its still a better choice.
 
I've got Prey installed on all my devices. Features remote locking, alarms, GPS, etc. I've used it before to track my wife's lost tablet, when she left it in a coffee shop.

It's not so much anti-theft, more recovery afterwards.
