Best business banking?

So,
I am starting a new business. I have a company registered, and a client or two lined up, but I want to open a business banking account. Not sure which bank will be the best. It is a consulting business, so the transactions in and out of the bank will be very straight forward, no salaries (yet), no credit card swiping facilities etc. Only basically a current account where clients can deposit fees, and from where I can pay expenses.

Any suggestions / comments?

thanks

Try FNB. Hassle free when it comes to opening a business account.

FNB has been a complete nightmare for business banking in my case. By far the worst out of the big 4 banks (with ABSA doing its best to be just as useless). I'd recommend Nedbank for starting out. By far the cheapest at around R60 a month, and the service has been decent. Standard Bank is also really good if you're looking for more than just basic banking. Alternatively, you could always go for a Capitec account, but it won't be an official business account.

I would 2nd the Nedbank suggestion but please stay away from Standard Bank for business unless you want you bank account frozen because no one tell you you need to FICA every now and then as was the case with our business ...what tossers. Regarding FNB though, I recall them starting out well but I guess you may be on to something there. Since MJ left, things may have gone south??

Also heard only good things regarding Nedbank's business banking options.

So Nedbank it is, then.

And current bank is disappointing, so no, not going to them.

Firstly, not the same bank as your personal banking. Never carry all your eggs in one basket.

I'm interested on why would you say that? I'm curious because I'm currently doing that.I went with FNB for business because I've had nothing but good experience with my personal account.

One mistake with fica and now both your accounts could close.

Been using Nedbank Business for years, haven't had any issues with them. If I need anything out of the ordinary, I just pick up the phone and call our business banker, she will then happily guide me in the right direction, or if I'm feeling lazy, I'd just drop her an email and she will reply within an hour or so.

Haven't tried any other banks, so can't really compare hehe.
