Ive gotten into a situation where I need to get another car.
Every day car for work and back. Lets say an average of 25km a day.
What would be the best car to get for 50k or less that would last like 5 years +?
I live in a dodgy area at the moment so something like a golf doesn't seem safe from all the stories ive heard?

If a have some links of a car on sale that would ve great as well. Need to get it within the next 30 days.

Thanks guys:thumbup:

Hyundai ATOS - fugly cars and nobody wants to steal them. When our one did not lock properly we would live it parked in the main road for hours without issue.

Reason why I bought an i10, an even more fugly car.

If a Golf isn't safe maybe look at an Opel Corsa.

Might even be able to pick up one of the more recent shapes for that kind of money.

The Daihatsu Charade is in the same sort class as the Atos but depending on the version has some more features available like twin airbags, ABS and power steering. My wife has driven one for the past 5 years with no problems. It is a Toyota engine and we've never had a problem with parts and servicing.

Old Series Land Rover ... to slow to steal. :D
Gonna be difficult to find a good one under R50k tho...

I quite like the old Daihastu Sirion or Charade. Tons of them available on Gumtree for less than R50 000.

Don't know how you feel about the Tata Indica?

If work and back is 25km then you might as well cycle there. I save thousands in fuel costs doing that.

Toyota tazz is high risk?

What about a kia picanto 2009 with 45000km?
R59 999 though.
