Best Credit Card

So I've seen some threads on here, mostly outdated.

Was wondering what you guys reckon is the best credit card available in SA? I've been looking at the American Express Starwood card that has some pretty awesome benefits. Anyone know if these are available locally?
 
If you pay your card off every month definitely the Virgin Money one.
 
+1 for Virgin Money. But I don't buy into benefits (or spend enough;))

It's free and works just like any other credit card. 55 days interest free.
 
Absa silver is cheapish also R14 a month , and rewards program is R20 extra , 1% cash back .
 
He specifically asked about benefits... hence Virgin wouldn't suit. Free to use if you always pay back your spend within 55 days, but zero benefits

And no, just because some people do not know how to respect/use credit properly does not automagically make credit cards evil.
 
I like a credit card. I don't use it for actual debt. I am still a student so I usually use my credit card flat out and just pay the money back. I never spend more than I can afford.

I honestly wish I never got one, its just a headache. Now that I have paid it off, I rather just save those installments.

My debit chip card has a daily limit of R 30 000, so I can buy a TV of R 15 000. It just depend on your bank.

Need to have one of the above products also.

No deal. You cannot have a credit card only and earn reward, guess you could make a small investment to qualify for the rewards program (lowest amount I could find is R100, do not know if this qualifies)

Yes, but you have to wait to buy your TV until you actually have the R15 000, as opposed to buying it for R15 000 and paying it off.
Alternatively, even if you do have R15 000 you can pay with your credit card now, put the R15 000 into a savings account to earn interest and pay your credit card after 55 days
