Best Free software to lock a folder on a PC?

Looking for a free version software (that wont expire) to protect ermmmm confidential errrrrrrrmmmm car pics in a folder located on my laptop desktop.

Then upload that 7zip to the cloud so you have a backup incase the laptop gets stolen.

You can get good, free encryptors on most websites these days. Just click on the dodgy adverts. :twisted:

Not free but can vouch for Universal Shield

Locks and/or hides car pic folders even in safe mode, can run in stealth mode making detection even harder. Used it for years, but only on Win7, don't see 8 or 10 listed on their compatibility list..

You mean VeraCrypt.

TrueCrypt support has been discontinued and if you download the software from the site it tells you its only for removing encryption, obviously if one has the old exe one can still use it.

Ok,that's definitely a priceless car then,best keep the pics top secret!:whistling:

But yeah either way I wouldn't leave the folder on the desktop,even if encrypted rather have it somewhere less obvious.

Can't you do this with built-in Bitlocker? I seem to recall something like that.

Best way:
Run an encrypted version of Gentoo in a virtual machine.
